There are 7 other NFL QBs who rank ahead of Lamar Jackson statistically. If he gets the MVP award this year, the award loses all credibility in my mind.

What gives the award credibility in your mind now? If it was a stat award then they wouldn't have it decided by a vote. There isn't really any criteria, and most consistently over the last 20 years it has been awarded to the QB of the team with the best record, and that's Lamar Jackson this year.

Lamar’s running ability is a credit to him despite Brock having considerably better throwing stats.

If Jackson is voted MVP, he will be one the worst QBs (statistically speaking) to have ever won the award. I realize that statistics aren't everything, but they are incredibly important. To give the MVP to a player who ranks so low statistically takes away the credibility of the award. Just my opinion.

Just depends what your criteria is. Purdy has obviously had a better statistical season, but if people want to make the argument that Lamar is more important to the success of Baltimore than Purdy is to the Niners I think a strong case can be made for that. I may not agree with it, but it is certainly arguable, and Baltimore has made a clear case they are the best team in the league. So if someone wants to say the most important player on the best team in the NFL should be MVP I'm fine with that.

Statistically he's nowhere near Brock. But because of some biases and the bad Christmas night game they may give it to Lamar. CMC would also be worthy.

This is pretty well said.

Let's move on from the MVP thing. The fact that we are even having this conversation about Cyclone BP/Mr Irrelevant... remains a true and JOYFUL MINDWRECK.
Think in terms of having these conversations, post clone bowl loss to Clemson.
Once drafted by SF, who here, would have been happy to see Brock get some second string, garbage time?
Me, and I'd bet Everyone here.

He will have more chances at that in future years. This year lets try for Super Bowl MVP.

:)

I don’t care if Brock ever wins the MVP if he goes on and wins at least a couple of Super Bowls. Iowa State having the chance to say they have Super Bowl-winning Quarterback would be worth so much. Especially if he can get more than one, including a Super Bowl MVP.

He will get Super Bowl MVP this year. Then a League MVP a different year. That's my current plan for Brock_STAR.

:)
