Well at least one team in this state knows how to cover a 31.5 pt spread against EIU.
Now that is a term I've not heard in a long time.
Very impressive 2nd half performance tonight.
Flat is the word that keeps coming to mind for that first half and the general atmosphere with the students gone. It's impressive when a team can fight through that and still blow out an opponent.
Our crowd may have been flat in the first half, but our team was not. I was actually impressed with how locked in we were the entire game, especially when these guys are all heading home tonight or tomorrow for a brief Christmas break.
Don't get me wrong, the effort was definitely there (as it always is with a TJ team). Just didn't seem sharp. There were flurries and then some plays where we just didn't execute well.
I think Eastern Illinois did a lot of things well to keep in touch with us (kept us out of the paint a lot, held the turnovers down, rebounded well, and hit quite a few tough shots), so I'll give them some credit too.

Eastern Illinois was feisty. Their permiter defense was solid, and they hit a bunch of late shot clock, contested jumpers. Good on them for grit. I can see how they have hung around with some good teams.
I dont know why we aren't allowed to discuss Omaha , but right now it's just us diehards watching these Espn+ games and reading these threads.

Big margins of victories help NET ranking, which will need help as the conference will be tough sledding.
