I need Facebook IT help!

I need help. The past few years I’ve been logged into my wife’s Facebook account on my phone. Nothing against Facebook, I just didn’t want my own account as all I really used it for was watching kids activities on Facebook live if I was out of town for work or scrolling through marketplace. I’ve decided it’s time to get my own account as lately there are a few groups I’d like to join and I’d rather they have my name on it as opposed to hers.
I tried to create my own (new) account tonight but when I go through the process, enter all my info and hit submit it spins like it’s processing things and then it automatically logs me into my wife’s Facebook account. I’ve deduced that somehow my email or instagram account is linked to hers and I can’t figure out how to remove or unlink them as everything I try doesn’t work. Anyone have any thoughts on what I can do so our accounts aren’t linked? I don’t get it?!?

Probably just easier to use a completely different email address for it.

Maybe use a different browser? Definitely sign out of that account first too. Seems like it is doing an automatic login on you or something

Or just clear the cache in the browser you're using

I’ve tried creating a new account through the app on my phone, my computer, and my son’s iPad that’s never logged into anyone’s Facebook before and they all 3 do the same thing. I’ve gone into the account center in her Facebook and none of my accounts are associated with her. It’s so frustrating.

Have you tried unplugging and plugging it back in again?

I finally figured out a way. I opened an incognito tab in chrome and was able to create an account going that route.

Now that you figured that out, anyone else's FB on their phone just always default to opening links in their FB browser?? I've switched the little toggle within settings to open in my external browser, but it never seems to take.. frustrating.

Isn't FB known for hijacking phone processes and capturing information about everything you do? You contacts, websites visited, emails, etc.

I had the FB app years ago and it spooked me how often it seemed to be monitoring me.

Been FB free for years and it's better that way

Delete cookies. That’s what my IT always says. Maybe use a different computer to set it up. Then log into it on your phone
