Time for a Real Discussion About Caitlin Clark

That "you're just jealous" thing is so stupid. I can admire Clark's skills without being jealous of them (or her). Her on court attitude is another story altogether. It makes it very difficult to like her, and the media fawning over her is annoying as hell.

If you listened to 2GNC, you’re only saying this because she’s a woman.

If it wasn’t for this site and Kieth Murphy, I wouldn’t know who the **** Caitlyn Clark was. What the **** is this idiot talking about? Tiger and Jordan? Jesus Christ this guys a clown.

Yes but 10 million people watched the national title game. That's Jordan and Tiger territory!!

Does Kieth know that the average NFL game draws almost twice that amount? Heck the Jets-Raiders game that Murphy mocked right before it aired on his network drew like 16 million viewers.

Nothing moves the needle like CC. Right?

There’s a larger conversation about how any time there’s a person or event with an Iowa connection the local media there hammers it to a pulp.

I'd agree with this. Growing up in Illinois, the state doesn't get all goo-goo eyes over some elite talent or person. There's a lot of them that come out of the state consistently. Small states like Iowa always make a big deal about people like Caitlin Clark, Shawn Johnson, etc. because someone so great only comes to light every so often. So, when it does happen, people in Iowa like to make it a big deal about it to tell everyone else to not forget about Iowa.

You mean like "Iowa Native Joe Burrow"?

To be fair, Lolo Jones, Shawn Johnson, and CC are all native to the Des Moines area, so it at least makes some sense for the DSM media to fawn over them some. But the all Iowans should root for them just because they are also from Iowa is a little weird.

The question that needs to be asked and Keith and his minions won't ask it... Why didn't Caitlyn go to a better basketball school than Iowa?

She had the chance I am sure to go to UConn or Tennessee and didn't... Why didn't Keith get Beaker... I mean Jon Sears on that?
This isn't fair. Who wouldn't want to play for the Capital's Home Team?

CW is 1000% more in the "you don't like her because you're jealous or because she's a woman" camp than Hassel has been. Honestly, Hassel is the best part of that pod and it isn't close.
That’s so dumb. I’m a woman and can’t stand her. I also can’t stand Grayson Allen or Connor McCaffery. Dislike jerks of both genders. And really hate people assuming sexism that isn’t there when there is plenty of it that exists in more important areas than some whiny arrogant brat on a basketball court.

By throwing it out there on something trivial, it diminishes the issue for women who suffer real consequences of sexism in the workplace, education, and health care in the nation with the highest maternal death rate in the developed world.
