While I believe that to be true, ask any city that hosted the Niners this last year about the size of the San Francisco fan base. They are a huge, rabid bunch.

Oh no doubt. Both can be true. The 9ers had a great run with Montana, Rice, Young, etc. that I’m sure made a lot of lifelong fans. Texas and California populations are huge too.
I just notice that Dallas gets a lot of airtime compared to other teams.
You would think other owners would get tired of the obvious favoritism given to Dallas by the NFL
Dallas is most popular team by far. 9ers are top 10 easy, and probably top five. I would put Green Bay and Steelers ahead of them, but after that it could be the 9ers.
They share a lot of sources of revenue, and Dallas generates more than any other team.
I feel like he is the favorite in the books for a reason.

If the 49ers beat the ravens next Sunday and Brock has another 250 yards and 3 TDs, there is almost no way he doesn’t win the MVP.
Ex pros and analysts love him. Talking heads driving engagement (Nick Wright, Cowherd, etc.) are the ones saying he hasn’t done enough.

I have met a surprisingly high number of Broncos fans based in Iowa as well.
Raiders are another popular team out there, especially for the hell raising blue collar crowd.
There are a lot of 49ers fans around the country because they had a big run there in the 80's and 90's. So if people were growing up at that time a lot were 49ers fans. Because kids often like the real good team and follow it. They also have cool uniforms. The red and gold just looks really good. Compared to say the Browns who have an ugly uniform. Yes kids really choose teams like this.
The Cowboys always marketed like Americas team and would go into places next door like New Mexico. Who didn't have a team and said Dallas and TX teams are your team. Then they expanded it out to many other states. The built a big following. That was actually a goal of one of the previous owners. Not sure about Jerry Jones. But they used to market that way on purpose under a prior owner. Probably for merchandise sales. They just wanted to build a bigger following and it worked.

I was a 49ers fan in the 80's and 90's because of this reason. Cowboys, 49ers, and Giants were on all the time when I was growing up, and the 49ers are the team I gravitated to. My KC fandom began around '89 with Schottenheimer moving over from the Browns and the drafting of Derrick Thomas. Slowly KC took over as my primary fandom, but have always kept an eye on SF as my NFC team to root for. Been really hard at times as a two of their coaches during some of their successful seasons have been Harbaugh and Shanahan. I see this situation as very similar to what just happened with the college football playoff. The committee and media went in with a the foregone conclusion that the SEC would have a school in. But when Bama beat Georgia, UT won at Bama, and three other power 5 champs went undefeated, it put them in a position where their predetermined outcome didn't make sense. They refused to accept this. Then we were treated to an onslaught of twisted logic to back into the outcome they needed.
Now in the NFL, the predetermined conclusion is that the MVP is going to go to the best QB among the top teams in the league. Back in August that was going to be Mahomes or Allen or Rodgers or Hurts. One of the more established stars. Now it looks like SF may be the best team in the league and Purdy has all the top QB stats. But handing the MVP to Mr Irrelevent from little old Iowa State just shows that a bunch of NFL scouts and so called media experts had a huge miss. They don't want to own that, so queue the twisted logic to make a case to give this award to anyone else.
They are using a lot of that against him sure. Of course it's unfair.
With the same roster and coaching staff, Trey Lance would be a lock for MVP if he had close to the same stats and record in the 20 games Brock has played in since Jimmy went out.

QBs deemed high talent are not scrutinized like Purdy.
Even CMC. Few are pointing out how easy and open his TD catch was on Sunday, like they do when discussing the same play for Brock.
Is Shanahan considered a lock for CoY? Or Lynch for executive of the year?
Trevor Lawrence fumbles by himself just running down the field. He has no timing and anticipation. His throws are late or off. His throwing accuracy is really not that great. Not on par with Purdy. But he is a "great QB" who can't be questioned. Because he is 6'6" 230 lbs. and was picked #1 overall. Players like that can mess up over and over and get chance after chance. They put everything Brock does under a microscope. Even the great things and over analyze it and try to find ways to downplay it. It's just so deeply unfair.
I get not liking Harbaugh, but the Shanahans seem fine. Is that from your Bronco hatred?
Both are good coaches but Harbaugh has a difficult personality that some can't handle and dislike. Remember now he had Al_Excuses (that's how we call him) Smith and KRAP (Kaepernick). He made multiple NFC Championship games and 1 Super Bowl with that. Rather than being blamed for it you would have to say it's actually phenomenal. They had no business being anywhere near a Super Bowl with that. His coaching dragged a sub par QB group that far. It's actually amazing.
