**** WBB: Gamethread - Cyclones host Troy at 12:00 p.m. ESPN+ ****

Sort of a typical December non-conference filler game. Not much to preview. Troy is 1-6 and NET #224. Lost to Tennessee by 27 and Georgia by 16 so they aren't 40 point loss bad. They are shooting 37% from the field and 27% from three. Four starters averaging 11-13 pts.

I watched a little of the Cleveland State / EIU WBB game last night. EIU leading by 30+ with six minutes left in the 4th Quarter, Clark is still shooting threes and running back giving high fives to the courtside fans. I know I'm old fashioned in my thinking but that's just poor sportsmanship to have CC in the game at that point.

Anyway, I wish we had Cleveland State on our schedule today and EIU had played Troy yesterday. Cleveland State has an ISU Alum as head coach, was 9-1 going into the game and played an interesting style attacking the rim. Their point guard had serious game, as did several of their undersized interior post players. I think our youngsters would benefit from a stern test, or at least playing a good team with a contrasting style. Go State!

Crooks is going to have to watch closely all season for people trying to get in front of her to draw a foul while running either direction on the floor. ******** call on her on the first run down the court, the girl was not set and she got the charge becuase the official wasn't watching.

That was an obvious flop on the Troy player.

The refs have been quite generous with allowing the flop against Crooks so far this season.
 
Troy is awful shooting the ball. Other than that quick run over a couple of minutes they are putting extra mortar on the bricks they are laying.
