Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

Neither is very impressive, but Iowa's is really bad and obviously Iowa is trending down and ISU is trending up at the moment.

Cope harder

9-9 is actually pretty good. The 9th best record in the NCAA tournament all-time sits at only 66%.

How's 9-9 not good? 1-1 in The tourney is a pretty acceptable outcome most years. Only the top 16 teams go better than that. That means we're getting in most years and averaging 1 win when we do. Which is better than a lot of programs.

I totally get your sarcasm. BUT, just you wait, if Iowa beats them by more than we beat them, there will be many in that fan base that will use it as "evidence" that Iowa has the superior team.
The flaw in your logic is you are assuming Iowa will beat them. Iowa is broken right now. Now doubt Iowa has better team, but that doesn't guarantee a victory.

I wonder how many teams have more than 9 wins in the NCAA tournament in the last 13 years. I could be totally off base here, but I'm guessing a fair amount have more than 9 wins.

You should be more worried about who has less than 9 wins in the last 13 years....

And if Iowa doesn't it will be simply because they played them when FA&M was fresh.
That's FAMU, which rhymes with Shamoo, which is how the Iowa team plays defense.

(roll, infomercial of guy stumbling with hose and cleaning products and comparison to Iowa player with same stumbling/bumbling actions).

Yep - you are absolutely correct. If the Hoks lose that one, it will definitely be a sign that there are much deeper issues with that team than an overall lack of athleticism & toughness.

I'm not a great statistician, but based on these two conferences, 9 tournament wins in the past 13 years seems to be about average. Iowa is for sure below average.
