Future Big 12 FB Opponents/Schedule Announced

I honestly do not care about the national title. The Big 12 race is much more interesting. If ESPN wants to turn the national title into figure skating where the results are already determined, go for it. The average CFB fan will quickly not care about the national title.

Ask an FCS/G5 fan and they are already there

I think we've been there for awhile. Between the game being on a Monday, and there being something like 8 schools that have won in the last 50 years, no one really gives a ****.

People caring and people watching are still two different things though. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the CFP still gets massive ratings.

If it turns into the SEC title game in January, ratings will drop at some point. We saw that with the LSU/Bama rematch. It will likely still be highly profitable long term, but when you alienate anyone that is not a blue blood, have at it.

In addition, I'm worried that the big 12 team in the playoff will likely be lower seeded each year (seeds 10-12), with a first round matchup against the SEC or big 10 runner up. Can win that game yes, but will be a tough matchup each year for our conference I'm afraid.

When the next playoff format is negotiated, it’ll be important for the Big12 and ACC to force those auto bids to get the byes for the 1-4 seed. Similar to the NFL, conference champions should get favor over at large bids.

There is a lot riding on the details of how the CFP will be run after this contract expires in 2025. The non-P2 conferences can’t just be happy to be included and need to band together to make sure they are not railroaded.

If true, the second bye week being Thanksgiving is DUMB. Like really ******* dumb.

These years with 2 bye weeks are rare and to not utilize it is just annoying.

If this is true, we get ANOTHER year of only 1 home game in October. That sucks. 3 home games in November? 2 byes are not needed.

A) I don't believe you.

B) I kinda dig this in case you are right. Having that early conference game is fun as hell. Making UCF come to Ames in November is fun (although if it's anything like this year it might be really nice out).
