Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

And I haven’t been that impressed with Purdue from the eye test. They are gettable for the next rung below in that league and probably gettable by almost anyone on the road.
They're a slightly improved version of last year. I still have very little faith they do much in March

Also Matt Painter. He has been outcoached by shelter pets.

Yeah that's so true. The thing with Purdue is that you know exactly what they are going to bring night in night out. Small ball lineups tend to give them fits and Painter does a terrible job adjusting on the fly.

I’m waiting for the fireworks show at Fran’s press conference when someone in the media dares to even hint that Iowa isn’t playing well. You know it’s coming.
I was surprised that his ejection didn't come up in the post game press conference. At least, not in any of the videos I saw of it. I understand that the media might not want to be super confrontational, but that seems like something you could at least give a cursory nod to.

Another telling thing is Fran still doesn’t do interviews with Dolph. The postgame interview is always with Bobby Hansen. No one holds a grudge better than Fran.

Someone need to go all "Randy Pete" on him. Doubt it happens as the pansie ass Iowa media folks may get their press creditials revoked.

One of the B1G announcers spent a good 30 seconds talking about someone's entry pass that had just the right speed and spin on it to make the play work. I am not kidding.

I tend to get 'The B1G is the root of how to play real sports correctly' feels from any of their announcers or promotional stuff and fans peddle it as a result.

You have to have guards to play college basketball and, yet again, Purdue doesn't.

Braden Smith has been very good. I also like Lance Jones as a veteran role player off the bench.

Fletcher Loyer sure does leave something to be desired for a a guy who takes a lot of shots for a top 5 team. He's shooting a pretty poor % from the field playing alongside a really good PG and Zach Edey. Purdue gets tons of open threes.

I do think they'll get worked by Arizona next weekend. You can catch #1 vs #2 on Peacock!

Edey never fouls. 2.5 fouls per 40 minutes is elite for anyone let alone a 7'5" post.

Edey has only fouled out of one game in his college career. That occured on December 8th, 2020.
At his size, throw your arms up vertically and barely jump and they have to arc the shot over a 12' barrier
