Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

That’s the point. There is no freaking way this team is #8 in the country, but they are playing the NET metrics game and they are currently ranked there… thus justifying the schedule.

Gotta give credit to Fran, he figured this out a few years ago so his goal is to run it up any chance they can. TJ appears to have put an emphasis on it as well.

On a side note, I noticed ISU shot 48 free throws in their game yesterday. That is crazy. I wonder what the record is and that had to be close to that.
They were in the bonus by the first TV timeout. It was an ugly game to watch. Now back to the topic at hand, the dumpster fire that you will ignore and we will not.

Still social distancing. I would expect nothing less from the premiere medical school west of the Mississippi and east of Marshalltown.
Can't even make that claim. Mayo and Washington University in St. Louis are better. Have to add south of Cedar Rapids and north of Muscatine. That should box it in enough to make the claim.

One of the biggest ironies in sports is that Iowa Basketball has only been semi-relevant the past decade because they can outscore teams without playing defense, while their Football program has only been semi-relevant because it has a great defense without playing offense.

When they can't score at will in Basketball or stop the big plays on defense in Football, they pretty much suck.

This was before a poor weekend for the Big Ten.

I think it's far more likely they get 6 or 7 in the dance this year as opposed to 8 or 9.

Locks: Purdue, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio St

Probables: Michigan St, Northwestern

Maybes: Nebraska

Doubtfuls: Rutgers, Indiana, Michigan, Iowa, Maryland

No Shot: Minnesota, Penn St

How am I ignoring anything? This Iowa team is really bad at the moment.

I am trying to think of the last Nat'l Champion that won on the back of a 'big guy'. I am sure there have been some recently or maybe not.

Alternately, lots of examples of stud guard tandems getting the job done.
I'd say Sean May and Carolina in '05 but they also had great guards.

One of the B1G announcers spent a good 30 seconds talking about someone's entry pass that had just the right speed and spin on it to make the play work. I am not kidding.

Watching B1G games and listening to the announcers is hilarious. Yesterday in the second half of the Iowa game the B1G announcers were talking about the blowout in Ames but how Iowa did the exact same thing to Iowa State last year. I just laughed because those games weren't even close to the same. Iowa got us in the first ten minutes last year and then we basically played even the rest of the game. We absolutely dominated Iowa in every faucet of the game start to finish Thursday night.

I'm curious how Hawk fans feel about Fran getting ready to Pass Davis for all time wins? Fran has benefited from a really soft B1G while Davis won games in what was regarded as a pretty stacked conference year in and year out. Davis was just so likeable and Fran is so punchable.
