Time for a Real Discussion About Caitlin Clark

A lot of people have said Caitlin could contribute if she played on a men’s team. I have always said that is BS, but I changed my mind after tonight.
As good as she is, and she is great in the woman's game, she would never see the floor in a men's game. She would struggle with the larger ball; the speed of the defenders would overwhelm her. Now a game of horse or one on one, she would kick their ass, but otherwise, not seeing the floor.

No WBB player would.

There’s always going to be some rivalry blinders with an Iowa player, but if CC had the demeanor of Keegan Murray, for example, people here would have more admiration for her as a local kid doing great things.

But there’s being competitive, then there’s…that. That type of behavior just makes a person unlikeable. Doesn’t matter the sport, profession, gender, and so on.

That’s a good point. Murray twins were the most humble quiet polite players imaginable and almost nobody complained about them. It’s not like we just automatically complain about every talented Iowa player.

I do enjoy seeing CC hit some of these outside shots, I mean it’s unreal. I don’t even mind her complaining about calls. Wed night I saw her yell at a ref for a solid minute until the ref actually changed a 50-50 call and that is a HORRIBLE look for the game itself unless it was some video review they didn’t mention on broadcast.

It was a joke at the Hawkeye men’s expense.

I am in the camp that thinks CC complains way to often up and down the court. It is a lot like LBJ imo. However, if you see most of the top athletes at their sport they tend to do that. At times refs will take it, at other times they throw a T their way like what happened in the 4th qtr of the NC game last year.

It has been said that this is the exact reason why TJ does not allow his athletes to get on the refs. a) he handles all of that when he feels it is truly needed b) refs remember the bit@hing during the game and into other games c) he wants his players focusing on playing first.

I thought Obama was the only baller President but guess not!

In the last couple years we've had Fran chase a ref down a tunnel and question the integrity of the game, players talk about refs by name to the media, Brian Ferentz berating referees and having to get "reprimanded", Parker grabbing his crotch by a ref, the Brands brothers acting like maniacs.
There's a leadership issue at Iowa, IMO. I feel like the new AD has the temperament to hopefully clean that up.
Many of their fans follow the coaches lead, look at the numbnuts on here.

Is it not amazing how EIU fans that do everything in their power to downgrade ISU, call us Clowns, the school is located in Lames and the rest of the garbage, but then they throw out a stat like this when they do not even consider ISU a rival and their little brother.

If you are ignoring ISU, then why does this stat matter, are you not supposed to win a vast majority of the games, because in their minds, even taking the field or court with ISU is somehow beneath them?
They always throw wrestling in there. Not sure why that would be added in besides it matters way more to Iowa than any other university in the world. It’s right there with Volleyball, and I follow wrestling but know it’s an also ran sport.

Horse yes, one on one……I don’t think so. Her chicken wing would be shoved right back in her face and she would be laying on the floor yelling foul after a flop.
