Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

Carver has been pretty empty this year already but with two beat downs this week and hosting a pretty bad Michigan team Sunday...I am interested to see what the crowd looks like. Ooph

Committee will still put 10 teams in the tourney
and they have proven over and over they rarely get more than one team out of the second round. 3 tournaments ago (there wasn't one in 2020) they were almost all wiped out but Houston missed some free throws and Michigan launched a bomb at the buzzer to get them out of the round. I wish the committee would punish that league and limit their invites until they can prove they have teams that can make deep runs. And they haven't won a NT since 2000, and we all know that one should have been ours anyway. :)

VT and A&M don't see that defense every 12 months and found ways to break it down.

The Big 12 seems to at least have an idea what to do against it now.

Iowa had nothing. It's not like they didn't know it was coming.

Sometimes a team just does not have the talent to deal with it. We could have played zone against that team. They have very little talent

Wait, What????? THAT?? That team last night is 5th best out of 14 teams? There are 9 teams that are worse? That can't be true. Is NET just a computer thing? If so, I think it has a virus.
I am shocked by Indiana. Jeez they would probably get crushed by Indiana State. That team is for real.

Iowa kind of had a tough deal coming into the game. They had to play probably the best team in the country on Monday then go on the road to Hilton on Thursday. I'm sure if they didn't have to play on Monday it would have been a better game.

You're playing into the Haydenism.

If anything Purdue should have been a great way for them to prep for Thursday.

Three days between games is plenty of time.

Two teams got into Iowa and they've generally not done well when a team does that.

I am not sure 3 days is enough for Iowa between games.

I don't think Fran believes it is enough either.

Exactly why he doesn't put them in a position to be play 2 games on the same weekend in the tourney.

Had a chance today to talk about the ISU-Hok game with a buddy of mine (Hok fan). For most of this non-con season, he was really talking up the Iowa team - especially highlighting how great the Frosh & Krikke were. Today, he said - "Iowa isn't very good this year." I wasn't even bragging about the win or chiding him about the Hoks. He's a good guy but, when it comes to Hok sports, he - like many fans my age - are still stuck in the 80s & believe that ISU NEVER has a superior team & deserves absolutely NO credit for any win against Iowa.
