**** WBB: Game Thread - Cyclones host #4 Iowa Wednesday 6:00 pm ESPN2 ****

She scored 35 pts on 31 shots. That’s an effective FG % of over 50%. I’m not sure how to explain this. Go look at some box scores. Especially from our mens’ teams the last few years. This isn’t complicated.
It's not. 1) I never said effective fg, 2) you're bad at math.

Can’t stand Clark but I’ll take 35 pts on 31 shots from a player every game.
1 pt per FG attempt will keep you in the 60s or low 70s most games. Iowa 67 points on 63 shots, ISU 58 points on 64 shots. We missed 5 out of last 6 shots so we were at 54 points on 58 shots before we went cold.

48.4 is not over 50%

Yeah I prefer stat lines that aren't some added garbage of effective and blah blah blah. And yes I know what all of that junk is. I prefer the efficiency of the player everyone compares her to, Steph Curry.

His line from just Nov. 25th because I remember watching it Thanksgiving weekend against the Spurs. Looked it up to make sure.

Curry 35 points (same as Clark) on 11-20 and 6-6 on free throws. Almost identical to Clark's 35 points and 5-5 on free throws. Biggest difference? Curry did it on 11 fewer shots. THAT is efficient.

He was 7-14 from three to her 6-16 tonight. And I can hold her to that standard because the entire nation says she is the Steph Curry and greatest shooter/scorer the women's game has seen.

Dude come on. Bill called a really solid game and the game plan was really good for the most part. But unless the kids ignored him, he did not call a great last 3-4 minutes. Did it cost us? Who knows? But these girls needed a better offensive game plan than iso ball every time down the court there to finish. That's just a fact.
Dude, we are playing without a seasoned point guard so what you want and what you get in a game as a coach can be quite different. I hated to lose but I am proud of the ladies and have no interest in woulda, coulda shoulda.

most casual of casual fans but the team does seem to have a lot of upside.

Brown looks like she could be amazing if she improves conditioning.

I certainly thought the overall length and talent looked better than Iowa outside of one player, then consider it's half freshmen.
half? 5 out of 8 regulars are freshman (5 FR, 1 JR, 2 SR). We do have soph Alisa Williams sitting out who should get a lot of run next year too. I believe Belanger is the only player who is for sure done and not coming back. Others might not, but have the option (assuming Emily doesn't play this year).
