Could well be. But also, I think he might. He was in the running for Penn State... so while you could 100% be correct, its also true to say its not like Klein's been the OC at Upper Iowa or Luther college and then going to A&M.

His name has been out there in the universe

Eh, can't scheme a run game even close to that level. He's a really good passing game coordinator.
I'm thinking about his coaching philosophy. I imagine he's a meticulous control freak. Works really well at the college level, doesnt work so well with a bunch of grown ass NFL veterans who make more money than you

Well, as much as I dislike KState due to our numerous painful losses to them, I am not celebrating if their QB follows Klein to A&M. First, I think we can beat them with this kid. Second, I’d like to see the Big 12 retain its players and be a strong conference. Third, this could easily happen to ISU in the future and would be indicative of the pollution that may destroy college football as we know it. The recent proposal from the NCAA would only accelerate the separation of the big money league from everyone else.

From a celebrating standpoint, it is a bit of both. I agree with what you are saying and realize it could happen to Iowa State. I am still celebrating a bit though because of some of those trash emaw fans on twitter that are always going after the Cyclones. Those fans remind me of the Utah ones.

Our players that are desired will be targeted by wealthy schools no matter what. Better that those wealthy schools feast on our competition, rather than us. Always remember, you do not need to be faster than the bear. You just need to be faster than your friend who is with you.

You make a lot of money playing college football. Especially as a transfer QB.
If you are a college player that can start or even backup at P5 level but aren't good enough to make it to the NFL - why not?

Even if you don't get NIL money (which we all know they now do - particularly quarterbacks) it pays. Get a second degree, get an MBA, take classes "just for fun", build networks to be a graduate assistant/coach. Sure there is injury risk, but my wife tore her rotator cuff doing lawn work - life is risk.

But not many of them at all are starter losses. I’m not concerned. It’s confusing to me the hawks don’t have more losses (yet)
Couple of reasons, they were playing last weekend, and we were off. They also have more players that grew up either from Iowa or right around the state.
Looking at our list, most did not grow up near Iowa.
