Transfer Portal Tracker

At the end of the season, yes, I would 1 million percent agree.

When we played Oklahoma? no. I would not say we were better than Kansas.
Okie State? Maybe?
I believe the ISU defense was better than Kansas defense the whole season. I also believe the ISU defense was better than Okie State all season but I was at Iowa State games so I am not sure how they were playing by the at that point of the season. But UCF just scored on them again...

A big take away from these portal entries are the lack of big names being poached and Iowa State keeping its OL and DL intact. That's huge. With so much youth playing major snaps this past season we are seeing guys leave who know their snaps next year are going to be limited. That's fine, good luck to them and their futures. Campbell has this team set to go on a run! Hopefully he learned from 2021 (which he admitted to making mistakes) and the staff can better handle the expectations coming in 2024&25.

It’s early.

"all mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; and every chapter must be so translated; God employs several translators; some pieces are translated by age, some by sickness, some by war, some by justice, some by the transfer portal; but God’s hand is in every translation, and his hand shall bind up all our scattered leaves again for that library where every book shall lie open to one another. "
I see you are trying to pass along some metaphysical old English poetic culture to us lowly CFers!

I looked this author up, John Donne, then looked up one of his last sermons/ writings, "Death's Duel". It seems like modern man has a limited diction philosophy comparatively. Wow! Imagine having to sit through that. I would need to break that down a paragraph at a time, and it would still be too much for me.

Honestly, I could name at least another half dozen players that SHOULD hit the portal. Not that I want them to. But if your main goal is to play and you're not going to play here, you might as well take advantage of the transfer rules. Now, if you enjoy being a part of the program and want to work your a$$ off to prove the coaches you can play at this level, by all means stay. I just think that if you're a D1 CFB player and you don't see the field for 5 years, it would kind of suck. Might as well move down a level and actually get on the field.

It depends if you are getting the degree you want and like your teammates why not stay. Just another viewpoint.

CMC started his retooling of the team almost exactly one year ago with the firing and hiring of staff. I don't know about the rest of you, but I am of the opinion that the current staff will soon prove out to be our best FB staff ever. This group was able to navigate things through very troubled waters in rather amazing fashion (while the rest of us were freaking out) while installing their new offense and special team concepts and motivating these very young guys to block out all the negativity and focus on what was right ahead of them. We saw how much the grew throughout the year, culminated with a very impressive Senior Day win in Manhattan in 5-9" of snow (with a QB from FL who probably had NEVER even seen snow before!!). Count me dammed excited for our future--barring any NIL casualties of our top guys--and I'm ready to experience 3+ years of the best ISU football ever. THAT is why I'm definitely going to Memphis---to show support to these player, coaches and send a strong message for portal guys and regular recruits that they will be making a very good decision to come to ISU because of the amazing fan base that supports it's teams. And, to also help Jamie send a strong message to future Bowl executives of the much higher rated bowls.

Yep this could definitely happen.

I don’t think this applies to any of the guys who have gone in for us yet though. I can’t imagine Adams is getting much of a bag
Didn't Blum say that EVERY football player got something from NIL, from $1,500 to much more. I thought I read that somewhere. So even deep bench feels included and getting something.

What year was that written, do you know? I'm curious.
Meditation XVIi by John Donne in 1623
I could have sworn it was 1624!

Haha. Kidding, of course. Actually it was listed as 1624 here:
All mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language.
