Transfer Portal Tracker

Where does God think he ends up? Judging by all their farewell posts he has something lined up for them.
"all mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; and every chapter must be so translated; God employs several translators; some pieces are translated by age, some by sickness, some by war, some by justice, some by the transfer portal; but God’s hand is in every translation, and his hand shall bind up all our scattered leaves again for that library where every book shall lie open to one another. "

LOL. Not even close.

Ward and Leonard, way above Gabriel.
Then probably Howard.

If Gabriel was so good, then more than teams like Miss State would be after him. And maybe he'll go somewhere else. But until that happens, no, he's no where near the top.

He's as close to the top as I am to being Brad Pitt or Leo in terms of physical appearance and bank account. And let me tell ya buddy, I ain't that close.

Dillon Gabriel is a fine college quarterback.
He's not carrying a team anywhere.
He's not lifting them higher.
And he's probably not more than a back up NFL QB.

Leonard - 1st round potential
Ward - High round potential and special athlete
DJ U - not great potential but tell you what, hes ability to run over LB's and pass well enough

Here are Gabriel stats vs the 3 highest rated teams he played

1 TD, 1 Pick vs. Okie State
0 TD, 1 Pick vs. Kansas
1 TD, 0 Pick vs. Texas

Now, he racked up stats against everyone else. But against the three best teams on OU's schedule - 2 Touchdowns, 2 picks.

That is not top tier quarterbacking. Especially with OU's offensive talent. Now he ran well on Texas and Kansas, sure.

But he is a stat padder.
Essentially he was Lance with Kilmer from Varsity Blues
I know you said "ranked teams" but I believe Iowa State is is better than both Okie State and Kansas. Especially when talking about how you played against each team's defense.

The 25 annual limit got suspended indefinitely in 2021 when everyone suddenly had to do COVID math around scholarships. They voted this fall to keep it that way. It doesn’t make sense to not let a team fill all 85 scholarships if they get pillaged in the portal every year.
Thanks much for the answer. Do you or anyone else here know how large our 2024 class can be with the latest portal announcements?

What year was that written, do you know? I'm curious.

At the end of the season, yes, I would 1 million percent agree.

When we played Oklahoma? no. I would not say we were better than Kansas.
Okie State? Maybe?

Well, John Donne wrote all of it (except for the transfer portal bit) circa 1624. The transfer portal bit was CloneLawman circa 15 minutes ago.
Thank you for the answer.

Donne was not a child of the Enlightenment. What I wished to know.

Maybe he knew about these and was speaking to what he knew and we didn’t.
Maybe. I think as with 99% of life, the truth is or was somewhere in the middle. He probably knew some of it, but probably not all.

And that's not a shot at CMC. With 100+ people roughly between 18-22 years old, give or take a few - there's going to mind changes and what not in almost every single program if not in every program

If you go to the thread titled "Campbell doesn't expect any more portal entries etc." you will see that comment is dated DEC 30 2017. He was responding to a question asked of him at that time when we played Memphis in the Liberty Bowl in 2017.

I believe that’s the description of the photo in the article. The picture was taken Dec 30 2017 at the Liberty Bowl

The photo is 2017 Liberty Bowl. The quote says he doesn't anticipate anymore portal entries from the 2023 roster.
