Transfer Portal Tracker

Kinda sad to see Crosby. I thought he could eventually be decent. Jean-Louis they took a flier on and he didn't see near the time as Sadowsky or even Ebel. Not to mention 3 more good young LBs coming in next year and Bacon on scholarship now. But for the most part, we're losing kids that either had never played or were probably going to be depth players at best. We're going to need to start filling some holes in the portal, but so far so good.

I agree, it’s almost as if we are suggesting these guys go somewhere else. Maybe not Norton or Snaders but certainly the rest

I would say its a much better situation to fill depth from the portal, rather than lose guys who will be contributors!

True but for the most part, a lot of the guys are leaving are guys that each school - at least at the power 5 level - wants or is OK with leaving. At least outside of coaching changes, etc.

Gabriel, Oklahoma was going Arnold
K-State and Howard - they were going to go Johnson anyways

Sanders & Norton - its Sama time etc.

Colorado is looking to do major business in the portal again.

They want to load up and do really, really good next year. They are not putting a ton into recruiting and developing which might indicate Deion is not there for long

Crosby is going to be the only guy that we are gonna miss and have to work to replace. Solid player.

Did Crosby play some? I thought he did but I don't see him on the participation list. Looks like they have been removing the portal guys from the roster, but other portal guys are on the participation list.

The teams that don't have continuity on their roster will always be treading water through the season. Even the blue bloods will struggle (A&M, USC).

Marchie Murdock once told me that the most overlooked aspect by fans is returning snaps and experience of the team. It's the culture builders and the guys who've "been there before" that make the team. Marchie couldn't have been more right.

But isn't this the best way to do it now?

Have a large NIL pool and pick off proven talent. Let KSU develop and you grab (pay) proven players as hired guns?

Be a manager and not a coach is the way I would go. Evaluate proven playmakers, pay them, and cut guys that don't produce on day 1.

99% of the time, yes. But people look at Michigan State in Tucker's one good year where they brought in a ton of pieces and say "see?"

But 99% yes

Unless you are Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, you are

1) Never going to have enough money to do that and
2) Never have enough continuity to go do that

So no. And even those schools don't take a TON - they take like 5-6, maybe 10 guys, Its surgical, not nuclear. Nuclear isn't going to work.

Georgia's QB sat for I think 3 years behind a guy who was lightly recruited at QB.

Ole Miss went out, spent a ton on QB's - and sucked on both Lines of scrimmage. You're not having enough money or ability to build a team
