No doubt Michigan was going to win.
None.

All I see are excuses and justifications why they are a better team. Again, somebody just say the better team won. No other words, excuses,or adjectives. Some of us Iowa fans saw this coming. Who is saying that Michigan isn't the better team?
Heard it. Clown show. I guess he had to make something up on Sunday morning.
Pretty sure if you ask most Iowa fans they'd tell you they believed Michigan was the much better team going in, and the much better team in victory coming out.All I see are excuses and justifications why they are a better team. Again, somebody just say the better team won. No other words, excuses,or adjectives.
Did he honestly make it sound as if Iowa had a chance to win that game last night? If so, that's just idiotic and 150% homerism... and he should know better. LAME.
But not surprising.
CW had better put him straight on their show this week.
He panders to his audience.Did he honestly make it sound as if Iowa had a chance to win that game last night? If so, that's just idiotic and 150% homerism... and he should know better. LAME.

That's closer, but no cigars. Key word was "most." The 49% that don't believe it go on sites with everything, but "the better team won."Pretty sure if you ask most Iowa fans they'd tell you they believed Michigan was the much better team going in, and the much better team in victory coming out.
You think message board posters represent the majority opinion of a program's fanbase? That's closer, but no cigars. Key word was "most." The 49% that don't believe it go on sites with everything, but "the better team won."
I listened to the cope from Jon Miller on Iowa Everywhere this morning. He wants to have it both ways, Iowa had a real shot to win and also there's a glass ceiling in college football for Iowa. He cited the defense limiting UM's points per play, but ignored the fact that Michigan got fairly disinterested in what was going on on the field once they got up 10-0, because why shouldn't they? A defense that only had to beat teams similarly poorly endowed on offense in the Big 10 West, but Iowa's offense is the reason they don't have a chance at playing for a championship.
He says things get harder starting next year, which is true. But not much. Iowa has more protected rivalries within the lower half of the pecking order in the Big 10 than anyone else, so their path will always be comparatively easy compared to most others. But he understands it without being able to admit it to himself. Iowa is the fake ID. Their record means they should be a top team but they just aren't. No West team is. Or has been. 0-10 in championship games all time.
It isn't that you aren't getting the respect you deserve because of your record. I know Kirk probably thinks like that too. It's that they really aren't much more than half a football team, regardless of record, that toys with the emotions of their fans into thinking they are relevant in ways that they are generally revealed not to be.
Agree with you. It rubs a lot of people the wrong way.It rubs me the wrong way that Iowa gets 3 protected games, and ISU couldn't even keep farmageddon going
Iowa fans were happy with the way the defense played and disgusted by the way offense played and doesn’t even give the chance at something more. I’m not sure why that’s a difficult concept to grasp.I just love Hawk fans saying... "well, we did a lot better than I, or anyone else, thought we would".
Wut? Michigan covered the spread and held you scoreless... and only allowed you to cross the 50 yd line 3 times. That is total domination by any measure. What were you so proud of? That you didn't lose by 40? Wow... talk about low expectations for a team in the B1G Championship game. Truth is... everyone knows Iowa sucks and had no chance in this game... and that's exactly how it turned out.
Explain the laughing Gonzo, on my post about the toughness of Iowa's schedule next year? You think message board posters represent the majority opinion of a program's fanbase?
Wait until BB season. Those MF'ing refs and Wilson basketballs will be a real issue for the hoks.Iowa fans blamed losing at ISU in 2011 due to the speakers being too loud.
They’re trying to create a narrative that isn’t there. It’s quite funny. Michigan is the better team, not debatable.Pretty sure if you ask most Iowa fans they'd tell you they believed Michigan was the much better team going in, and the much better team in victory coming out.
I would simply add that the one ST play put things out of reach. Iowa plays 66%. They need defense and special teams to be on point. Their margin of error, by design, cannot overcome a single failure by either.Iowa fans were happy with the way the defense played and disgusted by the way offense played and doesn’t even give the chance at something more. I’m not sure why that’s a difficult concept to grasp.
What is the ‘chance of something more’?Iowa fans were happy with the way the defense played and disgusted by the way offense played and doesn’t even give the chance at something more. I’m not sure why that’s a difficult concept to grasp.
Ok. You are not a turd polisher like your colleagues and Miller. Understood.Ummmm. I agree with you re: Iowa getting its ass kicked,, hence the "not surprising" comment as well as the MIchigan outplayed Iowa theme. Where did I have any ifs and or buts. I completely discounted any review arguments.
There is no turd to polish.
Michigan won. Decisively. I never declared a moral victory....just pointed out that a strong, smart defense could limit MIchigan, and that Saban could maybe do it in the semis.
C'mon man. Be real.
I think the fact that Iowa will play two likely top-10 programs to ISU's zero in the regular season takes away any doubt whose schedule will be tougher. I just don't think Utah, KSU, Kansas, WVU, etc., come close, then add in Houston, Baylor, TT, Cincy, UCF... This is where everyone knew things were going, Iowa's SoS would be amping up, ISU's would be amping down with no more round robin and OuT off the schedule.Explain the laughing Gonzo, on my post about the toughness of Iowa's schedule next year?
Two game are going to be tough for Iowa -- that's it. The rest is going to a mirror image of this year.
The other two hawk fans I can understand the laughing because they are idiots. I don't consider you an idiot.
