I would agree most fun game in recent memory. Top 5 of all time though……I don’t think so……that is a long list and the best part is that list keeps getting longer.

I don’t know if it even makes a top 5 Campbell win list.

Exciting to watch, back and forth, big plays, pretty evenly matched teams, the snow gave it added intrigue, nice change up from some of our games the last few years.

Listening to the post game stats though, I think I would take a Campbell sleeper hold game any day of the week, but TBF, I am kind of an old school, run the ball, salty defense, grind the clock kind of guy.

Impact, no. Historical, yes, the things that happened yesterday just haven't happened. The showed a stat during the game that you had to combine 51 of our previous games to get to the number of big plays we had last night.

It’s a game I’ll never forget, but I’m already seeing people overstress its importance in the team’s development. If this is a launching point for Abu Sama into Troy Davis-levels of rushing dominance I will be ecstatic, but the reality is that K-State couldn’t tackle for **** in the snow.

Similarly, are we now to expect that our defense suddenly lost its ability to get 3rd down stops? It was a snow game. Super enjoyable given the outcome but it will always exist as a statistical anomaly.

Sama was perfect for the conditions in that when he got to the 2nd level no one could get an angle on him.

Off the top of my head:

1. Earl Bruce winning in Lincoln
2. McCarney ending the streak
3. Campbell winning in Norman
4. Oklahoma State overtime thriller
5. First bowl win- Insight 2000
The Win at Texas roughly 10 years ago was a big one.

Think the question has already been answered but not anywhere close to a top 5 win in terms of impact to the program, college football world, etc. Easily a top 5 funnest ISU football game to watch, probably my number 1 off the top of my head, so kinda just depends on your definition of top wins

Except for the one idiotic KSU player, I think his jersey said Lee, who shoved Abu forward to give him an extra boost to avoid the other two KSU tacklers that looked like they could get them. It sure was nice of him.

Who knows?

But I do know that not many Iowa State teams have gotten 7 wins before, so that's pretty cool.

This game was top 5 in my estimation, but we probably don’t realize it now.

We beat a ranked arch rival on the road, giving us 4 road wins in conference this season. Who would have predicted that.

We lose two of our best running backs before the game, yet find our shining star in Sama. Now we have our starting back for the future of the program and just as important, it takes a lot of pressure off Roco, which will make him even better.

This game got us to 7 wins in a season that started off not so hot. The gambling probe attrition, coaching changes, a ton of young players seeing the field for the first time. Yet here we are. And this is why this game is important - this is going to be the launch pad that sends us into our bowl game followed by next spring and following season.

This team has a super bright future in a conference that is ripe for the picking. That’s why it’s top five in my opinion. We have legit hope and the world is wide open before us. Let’s get to the ship.

I've seen many "better-played" games but it was the most fun ISU game I've ever watched. When it was tied at 35 with 12 minutes to go, I really didn't even care if we won anymore, it was such a good time. But winning was of course nice!

Though it was a road win against a ranked opponent who is probably our biggest in-conference rival, seemingly in the last annual meet-up with that opponent at least for the immediate future. That narrative seems to be getting sidelined a bit.

I said yes, but I can see why others disagree. I don't think I've ever seen a ISU FB game with as many big plays for ISU as this one though. It certainly is one of my favorite games.
