*** Official #7 Texas (SAMSUBA) vs IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

Funny that with all their superior talent they only beat us by 10. The only times they faced teams with similar recruiting talent (Bama and OU), they went 1-1. Yet, Sarkisian will probably get conference coach of the year for managing to win with all their 5-star talent, NIL money, and other advantages. Teams atop the recruiting rankings and financials should NEVER win coach of the year.

Just my two cents.

Quit the troll bs, someone can have a different opinion and still bleed cardinal. We have had a really good season and credit to Campbell for opening up the O. But we didn't the first half of KU, and we lost. We could be better than we are this year. And quit using the gambling as a reason to make Campbell a saint, he is ultimately responsible for it.

There are maybe 2 or 3 people on this entire board that are over the top Campbell apologists. The rest of us are just tired of hearing the same stupid criticisms of Campbell by the same group of posters that get increasingly more removed from reality as the weeks go by. And if someone dares to question their views, they’re a Campbell apologist.

I’m sorry that a lot of people are slow to jump on the “Campbell sucks” bandwagon considering he’s had the longest run of successful football in program history. He’s kind of earned a long leash from most people.

Question for folks that know the rule well. On the blocked PAT. Texas rushed to the right and left of the snapper, is that legal? For some reason thought you were not allowed to rush at the snapper. Just curious on the rule is.
I was curious, too, after seeing it in the stadium. The play is linked at the time stamp here:

On a skim of the kicking section and a search for the word "snapper" in the rule book, the main relevant rules are that the defensive players have to be lined up outside the frame of the snapper (looks like Texas followed that) and the rule below, which would be the one that Texas could have broken.
Contact Against the Snapper
ARTICLE 14. When a team is in scrimmage kick formation, a defensive player may not initiate contact with the snapper until one second has elapsed after the snap (A.R. 9-1-14-I-III).
I'm curious how closely the "one second" is enforced. The contact to the snapper by the player who blocked the kick was pretty quick, but it wasn't like he jumped the snap and it wasn't contact straight on, it was in the gap between the snapper and right guard (who also had two other Texas players collapsing in on him).

He slid to the side. You guys were lucky they called the phantom hold on the Adani great catch and that Worthy fumbled.
Horns should have won by 40. Texas and OU won't play the old B12 teams for a long time but I generally like the ISU fans and the K State fans. The rest of the league are pretty much dirt bag fans.

Your and K state fan bases didn't turn ugly until the last few years I hope you enjoy the WWE feel the B12 is gonna have.
Best of luck.

Iowa State and Kansas State are being a bunch of meanies everyone. I'm sure the soft Texas fans won't get their fee-fees hurt in the SEC.

Thanks for looking this up. They put a lot of pressure on our snapper, and got great penetration because of it.

Judging by the article in Athletic. Gifford comments did amp them up.
Texas was good tonight - on there own doing!

I’m sure you couldn’t see the hold, since both your eyes point opposite directions, most likely due to your parents being siblings. Enjoy becoming the new Vanderbilt

Acquisition of talent is part of coaching as well. Like it or not.

At a school like ours, yes. If you're talking Notre Dame, Bama, Georgia tOSU, Michigan, UT, OU, etc those players were going to go there anyway, or at the very least their recruiting is super-easy.

If you think we are playing on a level field with Texas you’re an idiot.
Being called an idiot by someone that wanted me to clarify my University of Mississippi pick as Mississippi St or Ol Miss doesn't carry a lot of weight.

We are "playing at the same level" Regardless of financial and geographical advantages.
