Seriously, this. I can't even IMAGINE the amount of ass the kid potentially gets. He's young, in college, great looking, and he is the starting QB for the damn football team!!!

Get this man a Hot Tub already!!!!

Can someone tell me genuinely what Rocco does well? He’s seems to be a game manager if I’ve ever seen one..
He’s a redshirt freshman that threw for 323 yards, 10.6 yards per completion, 75% completions, and had a higher qbr than Ewers.

Look he’s not perfect. He has 2-3 balls a game that make you scratch your head. That’s apart of his youth. He’s grown all year, if you haven’t seen that than idk what to tell ya.

Rocco looks solid.

I don’t think he has the same “wow” factor as Purdy on the intermediate throws/accuracy, but Purdy was a generational talent at that type of thing.. and he is doing it in the pros.

From a leadership standpoint Rocco is night and day better compared to last year. He can be a really solid college QB from a play standpoint (maybe he even grows a lot between now and next year!), but he is already elite from the intangibles perspective.

I do NOT think he is a better QB than Brock, but he is still pretty damn good, especially for a redshirt freshman. Whether it’s him or Kohl, I’m excited for the future of the position.

You have to be a troll. This team started 1-2 and got substantially better throughout the year. It's mostly underclassmen. Our only upperclassmen rush was on a fake fg.

We lost key player positions to the gambling situation. Incredibly tough offseason... and still make a bowl!

This was a great coaching job to get to a bowl game.
What you said!

I didn't want to argue with the dude.

Wow, Texas has one heck of a D-Line.

Oh wait. We all knew that!

There’s no f ing reason in the world to run the bal 21 times for 9 yards. We threw the ball for 350+.

ESPECIALLY since the previous Texas opponents had zero success running the ball but threw for hundreds of yards.

The call in show they were saying “you can’t throw the ball every time”.

Yes you can when you KNOW the result if you try to run it 21 times mostly up the middle against that D Line.

I don’t care if Rocco throws 5 INTs. At least give us a chance.

Stop looking at stat lines, Texas was giving him 5 yard slants all night because they know he can’t push the ball down the field. When he tried to, he threw a ball way late which resulted in an INT.
This makes no sense. Texas was giving him the short passing game because they know he can’t throw downfield? If someone sucks at throwing deep that’s the exact opposite of what you do.

Rocco is tracking pretty close to Purdy as a Jr in key stats. But he isn’t as accurate so far, which understandable, since Purdy is off to a historic start in the NFL.

Rocco looks like a 4 year starter to me.

I just wonder how much more he can improve? Decisions sure, but he isn't likely to drastically increase his arm strength, foot speed or grow 4 inches. Does Kohl or the kid from SE Polk start to surpass him later on? If he can get much better he will be really good because he's playing pretty well, without a running game too.

To upset a team like texas you have to capitalize on turnovers and penalties and we didn’t.

If you don’t, stars and elite athletes that are coached well will always win out. To Sark’s credit he’s coaching them up well.

That’s a Texas team we haven’t seen in awhile. They’re good.

The pass to Eli in the 3rd qtr. was one of the best passes I’ve ever seen from an ISU quarterback.

He dropped that in a bucket with 2 future NFL guys in his face.

Good Brock?
Or
Bad Brock?

Because those are two distinct players.

Wasted too many drives by trying to run the ball. Thought there should've been some more offensive creativity to use Texas' aggression against them. Worked perfect on that pop pass to Dean.

It worked greatly because we pounded the middle, why else do you think they bit hard?

Rocco played great. Had a few throws that were slow reads (has had a few of those this season) but I chalk that up to inexperience. That will be cleaned up if he keeps improving.

Yeah, I just can’t really find anything to complain about with this game. I thought the referees were fair, the guys played pretty well, and the coaches did a decent job. They’re just clearly a better team. Yet the talent gap wasn’t wide enough that it was nearly embarrassing. That says a ton in my opinion…especially considering how young we are and what the rankings say. We’re going to be really happy in the new Big 12.

I remember a time when top 10 teams would roll into JTS against McCarney, Chizik and Rhoads teams. This game and most other top 10 matchups looked different with CMC coaching. Specifically the scoreboard

Yeah, overall Becht played really really well tonight.. He has improved so much since that Iowa game. Had some great throws tonight. Only one real mental mistake with the int. No way you can ask more of a freshman QB against a top 10 team. Excited to see him develop more next year.
The throw he made to Higgins along the sideline to set up the first TD was a thing of beauty. Absolutely perfect pass.

But he then stared down his receiver and threw late in the next series for the int. Most defensive backs will break up the pass or intercept it in those scenarios.

But he’s just a freshman. We can look back at Purdy’s career and find many head scratching moments

Question for folks that know the rule well. On the blocked PAT. Texas rushed to the right and left of the snapper, is that legal? For some reason thought you were not allowed to rush at the snapper. Just curious on the rule is.
