Gave up their standard 90+ on defense and made a game of it because Creighton played zero defense of their own. Seen one Fran game, seen em all.Iowa doesn’t look half bad. I imagine they are another 20-21 win team and a loss in first round of tournament again
That’s the ticket, go for Russia CC!Don't forget she'll make far more money in Europe than in the WNBA.

Yeah, I only watched the last 10 minutes, but that was my takeaway too. There should be potential for them to be really bad, but I think the freshman class is actually pretty decent as much as I wish it wasn't.Iowa doesn’t look half bad. It's a lot of the same, just with younger players and no clear cut all American type stud. So I agree with the assessment of it being fun to watch. Well, as fun as it can possibly be to watch a Fran team.Fran stuck with the starters too long to start the second half. Interior defense is going to be an issue against good offensive rebounding teams.
They’ll be a fun team to watch though.

Looking ahead, I think they lose in Hilton to us by a lot unless their 3s are falling early or the refs are calling it tight. Our no middle defense (should) make it tough on guys like Krikke and Freeman, who both looked good from what I saw tonight. Freeman was taking it to Kalkbrenner and beating him consistently. Creighton looked pretty soft on D and I've never been huge on Kalkbrenner, but that is a true freshman going against a bigger senior and winning.
You mean keeping Fran away from the team so he can’t screw it up?Then how do you explain this brilliant coaching adjustment that led to a monumental comeback?

Yeah, the threat Iowa poses is that they will absolutely push it and shoot the first available open shot. That can negate a strong defense if they're hot. Have to match up well for the initial and secondary breaks.I need to see ISU play someone with a pulse before making any kind of judgement on this but I think it will be tough for ISU either way.
You shoot 50% from the field and 42% from 3 like Iowa did tonight that’s a win almost every time. Instead they were down 17 and then Creighton basically didn’t hit another FG the rest of the way. Again Iowa gives up waaay too many dunks and easy layups. But they are “scrappy” and they move the ball well and can shoot it. They’ll win games but have no shot at accomplishing anything meaningful.
