I was actually looking around for this a couple days ago and I couldn't find anything. I guess I would be somewhat shocked if they don't follow the same model the SEC and Big 10 have been using with 14 teams.

I would be pretty shocked if the men’s and women’s conference tourneys were ran differently

It seems like the men's and women's would be run in the same manner. However, even the Iowa State websites list 6 days for women (March 7-12) and 5 days for men (March 12-16).

My guess is that they are going to continue the practice of giving the final two teams a day off between the semis and finals.

I don't recall them having a day off between the semis and finals in the Big 12 tournament in recent years.

BYU doesn't play on Sundays so there won't be any games that day just in case. Woman would go Thurs-Sat, Off day, Mon-Tues. Men go Tues- Sat

That's plausible. Hadn't even thought of that possibility.

Pollard did say something yesterday on KXNO about not scheduling BYU on Sundays. He even joked about whether our football game on Saturday would be forfeited if it went past midnight.

Sucks that most of us have to choose between attending either the men or women games. It was nice being able to attend both tourneys the same weekend.
We've said the same thing. New guy thinks it'll be great to put the women in T-Mobile Center. It won't. Add to that the financial matter of people who previously attended both tournaments who can't afford a)to miss that much work (or take that much vacation) and b)pay for lodging somewhere in KC for a week and a half. Not gonna happen.
And now we need to choose which tournament OR which games to miss for both. This will kill the camaraderie and crossover of ISU fans who cheer for women and men.

I would hope that Jamie and Bill fought to keep the men and women’s tournaments at the same time. My impression is that the other schools don’t care that this will have less fans at the games because they didn’t have fans come to the women’s tournament anyway

Not recently, but that was the case for the first several years of the tournament.

Some of the other teams pushed for this because they thought ISU had too big of an advantage with larger crowds (especially for the women).

Another excuse given was because Municipal was too outdated. I was visiting with Emily Ryan at a We Will event and she said that the facilities were just fine.

I think they are going to ruin the women’s tournament in KC and give them an excuse to move it.

It's all political. The push for "equality" has overtaken common sense in many ways.

Those of us who have been around a long time have already seen this experiment tried, and have seen it fail terribly.

That’s weird…I’ve been going to the tournament for around 20-25 years and don’t remember any days off…but those brain cells could be dead. I did look up the 2000 tourney and indeed the women had Friday off before the final. I must have spent the day drinking.

I would imagine it will be similar to the SEC schedule. The difference is that since you are starting on a Thursday, you will take Sunday (March 10) off due to BYU not playing on Sundays.

March 7
13 vs 12
14 vs 11

March 8
8 vs 9
13/12 vs 5
7 vs 10
14/11 vs 6

March 9
1 vs 8/9
4 vs 5/12/13
2 vs 7/10
3 vs 6/11/14

March 10 - off day

World's tiniest violin. How come it wasn't an advantage for Kansas and Kansas State?

Like the people who want to get rid of the IGHSAU.

Isn't it the opposite? Doesn't everybody want to get rid of the boys union and let the girls union run everything?
