*** Official #22 Kansas vs IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

Bill Self and Liepold must live in the same Overland Park neighborhood as all these referees.....
Seriously though, are we ankle tackle U or what?

I feel like calling that a fumble is no different than signaling touchdown when a guy gets tackled on the 50 yard line.

It's absolutely equally bizarre. Like WTF is going on????
Sometimes fumbles go forward, it's not that uncommon if a QB loses control of the ball but still pushing it forward with their arm's momentum.

Need to get more pressure on Bean. He had all day to throw on all of the converted 3rd and 4th and long plays. The dude isn't consistent throwing the ball and it will play out if we make him get rid of it quickly. But if he can hold for 5 plus seconds, then pick on Thompson, Freyler, or the backers? You make him look good.

But yes, bigger problems are on offense. KU is doing to Rocco exactly what we should b3 trying to do for Bean...bring pressure. Scheelhaase in turn has done a poor job of calling plays and protection schemes that make it possible for Rocco to make plays. If he is running for his life in the 2nd like he was in the 1st the game is over.
We need to get Rocco rolling out. The pocket is collapsing on him constantly.

So we just benching Sama now?

We need players we can dump it to quick in space who can make something happen, we're trying to get it outside but it's all so slow developing. Seems like he would help.

Our backs aren't getting it done and we aren't getting time to get it to Higgins and Brahmer deep.

Lost respect for these announcers when they had no comment on the patsy cake roughing the passer call on KU's first drive.

Actually they said there wasn’t enough contact to warrant a flag. IIRCC

Defense adjusted to man press. Making a big difference.

Offense needs to get Rocco rolling out and then make a counter play off that action. We're getting one on one match ups outside. Just not taking shots.

The only real excuse could be "none of us saw the play at all".

But even that...did you see how the ball ended up 10 years down field and was almost a completion? I mean, they had to miss THE THROW and THE NEAR CATCH, to rule that a fumble.

I should be mad at our offense and glad replay allowed it to be fixed, but I really cannot figure it out. There absolutely should be some sort of interview/press conference for these games.
Did Hufford also think it might have been a fumble? I couldn't figure out what he was doing there, but I guess he was tackling the KU guy who picked up the ball. I thought Hufford was going to get a 15-yard penalty.

Stop walking around looking at your wrist. We are in November.......they don't know the plays by now? The best series was the last where it was just get to the line and go. That has worked against Iowa, Ohio, OSU and every opponent up to now. Stop hog tying this offense with "process and growth" and let it fly. How many times has KU thrown deep? Give it a try Matt!

Their defense is not good......make them play the entire field like what they are doing to our defense and stop trying to "establish" the running game. Good lord have IQ's suddenly dropped on the sideline since last game?
