Hello

Is it Tech from last year?
Kansas "Freezer Bowl" in 2013. Senior night. 8 degrees at kickoff, 3 degrees at halftime, sub zero by the time we went home that night. After the game, the team came out (led by Woody) and circled the field, high-fiving all the fans that stayed to the end of the game. We didn't win much that year, but they repaid us with a 34-zip score that night. :}

I was at that game, but we left about halfway through the 3rd quarter.

Wins were rare that season. It felt important to actually witness one.
From my description of that picture at the time:
8 degrees at kickoff, 3 degrees at halftime. We are:
a) dedicated
b) fanatic
c) masochistic
d) insane
e) all of the above.
ISU 34, KU 0...
Finally, a win!!!!

I brought my then-girlfriend to the game to show her what football in Iowa is all about.

We snuck in some Crown Royal Maple singles to help us out (as a Canadian, she felt it was her heritage to do so).

We made it a quarter before rolling out.

She still married me, but told me no more cold games.

There is no way I'm going to be able to stay awake for this entire game. Needs to be put out of reach quickly.

My best hope is to fall asleep then hopefully wake back up in the 4th and either watch it or turn off the TV depending on the score.

Its not that high. About 4,500 feet. I get a chuckle when the TV announcers discuss “Altitude” as a factor. For a conditioned college athlete, 4,500 vs 900 in Iowa should be negligible.
Agreed. Generally 8000ft is where "regular people" (not college athletes) start to have problems hiking and generally milling about.
