Well no ****. He wasn't going to hit 325 points so we all knew he wasn't coming back next year. Thanks, David.

Seems like Kirk wants that total BIG10 wins number, of course he doesDoesn't matter who the OC is. Still Kirk's offense.
Hearing that it's the WR's coach that is becoming the interim OC. Yeah, that same WR coach whose group accumulatively has like 3 catches in the last 3 games.Dochterman saying he’s resigning as OC, doesn’t mean he won’t be on staff. Good luck finding an OC candidate who wants to come into that situation.
Maybe.....I'm guessing Brian was lining up an NFL job for next year.
I think Kirk hangs for at least one more. He's going to pass Woody Hayes next year for career Big Ten wins.
Disappointing of true. That's the worst unit on the teamHearing that it's the WR's coach that is becoming the interim OC. Yeah, that same WR coach whose group accumulatively has like 3 catches in the last 3 games.
What is Courtney Messingham doing these days? Please announce Tom Manning as the new offensive coordinator at Iowa
Just going off what a work buddy of mine is telling me. Could just be Twitter rumors.Disappointing of true. That's the worst unit on the team
Eickholt hit "publish" on that story with a subhead that said BF had announced his resignation this morning, then changed it to remove that part. Real solid reporting there.
Honestly if Brian does resign but not effective til end of season, I bet we start to see Iowa's offense actually have some decent games down the stretch here. There is probably some psychological term for it that I am missing, but something about this screams morale boost to me. We saw it in Ames a bit at the end of the McCarney and Rhoads eras.Found the cached version. The original subhead:
"One of the most interesting storylines all across the college football landscape has come to an end. On Monday morning, Iowa offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz announced that he'll be resigning as Iowa's offensive coordinator, but will coach the rest of the season."
Looks like a source led him astray on the specifics and he had to pull back on that pre-written obituary.

One would think this might be it for Kirk. However I do think there is a lot to make of how close he is to the Big 10 record for wins or whatever. Kirk is just smug enough to want to hang around long enough to achieve that I think. What does he need, 10 more wins? 11?So this effectively ends the countdown to 325. Rats. I was hoping they would find excuses for the poor offense this year like injuries as a reason why the 325 point wasn’t attainable to bring back BF next year
It would not surprise me to see KF retire after the season as well. It’s a perfect time to do it: son no longer on the team and a new AD who likely wants to make their own football HC hire.
Hopefully we can still watch the Brian Ferentz Cliffhangers game update (from The Price is Right). That still makes me laugh. So this effectively ends the countdown to 325. Rats. The countdown to 325 will exist until Iowa hits it consistently year in and out. It's such an obvious troll mark set by their own administration that I cant imagine it leaving. Future OCs will be judged on this just because Brian Ferentz was.So this effectively ends the countdown to 325. Rats.
