Eickholt hit "publish" on that story with a subhead that said BF had announced his resignation this morning, then changed it to remove that part. Real solid reporting there.
Dochterman saying he’s resigning as OC, doesn’t mean he won’t be on staff. Good luck finding an OC candidate who wants to come into that situation.

Looks like a source led him astray on the specifics and he had to pull back on that pre-written obituary.
Honestly if Brian does resign but not effective til end of season, I bet we start to see Iowa's offense actually have some decent games down the stretch here. There is probably some psychological term for it that I am missing, but something about this screams morale boost to me. We saw it in Ames a bit at the end of the McCarney and Rhoads eras.

So this effectively ends the countdown to 325. Rats. I was hoping they would find excuses for the poor offense this year like injuries as a reason why the 325 point wasn’t attainable to bring back BF next year

One would think this might be it for Kirk. However I do think there is a lot to make of how close he is to the Big 10 record for wins or whatever. Kirk is just smug enough to want to hang around long enough to achieve that I think. What does he need, 10 more wins? 11?
Hopefully we can still watch the Brian Ferentz Cliffhangers game update (from The Price is Right). That still makes me laugh.
The countdown to 325 will exist until Iowa hits it consistently year in and out. It's such an obvious troll mark set by their own administration that I cant imagine it leaving. Future OCs will be judged on this just because Brian Ferentz was.
