1st date with my now wife was the Homecoming dance 1986. Married 32 years come November.

I can smell the Aqua Net and Brut from here.

Edit: I'll add a song just to complete the image

And we danced like a wave on the ocean, romanced
We were liars in love and we danced
Swept away for a moment by chance
And we danced and danced danced

Our first date was at Thai Kitchen. I don't remember, but I'm pretty sure we each paid for our own meals. After, we walked to my place for a beer before meeting up with friends out at the bars.

We were already pretty...familiar...with each other at that point, but that was our first proper date lol

Pizza Kitchen in Ames. We both ordered individual crock pizzas, went to the ISU hockey game afterwards.

I just saw a twitter post that got me thinking about my first date with my wife. Where did you go? Who paid?

We went to the Applebee's in Cedar Falls, I paid, and nearly 30 years later she still remembers what we both ate.

Doesn’t this basically kill every place? Guess hotel isn’t on there, so there you go.

My wife and I went to a movie (Cheaper by the Dozen) then ate at Applebees. Why did we do this? Because it was exactly what she wanted to do. 18 years married this December.. This list has alot to be desired, glad I married a no frills kind of gal.

Was at Papa’s in Mason city. Just closed a couple weeks ago. May have hit a movie later but we had known each other for a bit. Of course I paid, I always did and still do, not that I demand to, she always forgets any payment source.

Ah, this is a fun topic.

I've discussed this before.

We hiked and canoed at a lake and got ice cream afterwards.

He was going to propose in a canoe, thought it was romantic to be in same end, then tipped it.

Decided he better wait a day, then proposed on the shore.
