F*CK IOWA

Bottom 6 passing (#128-133) YPG in FBS:

Nebraska - 133.7
Minnesota - 131.9
Army - 129.0
Iowa - 116.5
Navy - 99.7
Air Force - 88.4

Three B1G West schools and the three service academies.

Also hilarious: Air Force has thrown 33 passes all season (<5 per game) and only has 1 fewer TD pass than Iowa.
And I am sure that Illinois and NW are pretty close by too.

A lot of things are overshadowed by that reversed call, WHICH WAS THE CORRECT CALL…

The all time horrible offense. This classless fan behavior. The fact that BF doesn’t ever have to talk to the media and justify his ineptitude. Being able to be that bad at offense and still having a chance to win because the teams on the schedule are basically MAC level competition.
The MAC is better than the Big 10 west.

Total offense: 133/133
Passing offense: 131/133
Rushing offense: 108/133
Total first downs: 133/133
Scoring offense: 118/133
Punting avg yards/game: 1/133
Long plays from scrimmage: 132/133
Time of possession: 125/133

Cooper and Kirk both said it wasn't a wave, it was just Cooper maintaining his balance while he was running. Watch the video and try not to laugh at that explanation.

Looked to me in real time like he was trying to wave to tell his teammates to get out of the way due to the short punt while he was pointing up at the ball.
His intent is irrelevant. Per the rule book, if the returner is making any waiving motion (like DeJean was with his left arm) this is the right call. It’s not a penalty, it’s just a dead ball where it’s recovered.

Based upon what I have read, it was the correct call for invalid fair catch and it was reviewable. I think Hawk fans could argue that it doesn’t get called often so why call it then. But, you really can’t dispute anything regarding the rule based interpretation of the call.

When I read what Hawk fans are still complaining about, they simple can’t fathom the actual details and rules behind the call. They are the most uneducated and ignorant fan base in all of college sports.

I think the funniest part to me is that despite the controversial call, Iowa still got the ball at their 46 yard line and only had to go about 20 yards in 1:32 to have a chance at a game winning field goal with the wind at their back… And still everyone in the stadium and watching on TV knew they weren’t going to be able to do it

FWIW. There was a lot of media chatter last night that BF needs fired immediately. Not after the season.

The new AD could really win over a lot of fan support by doing just that and also jumpstart the head coaching search by basically putting KF on notice.

There is a non zero percent chance this happens soon.

I get why everyone hates Brian... but this is clearly the offense Kirk wants. Does firing Brian actually change anything? I don't think so. I think the lightning rod of blame will just get moved to a new (non Kirk) target

100% Agree.

this the type of offense KF wants... pro-style while being counter and bootleg heavy. but the execution of that is on BF which has been extremely poor. also the recruiting and player development is ultimately on BF. both of which have been laughable. how on earth they saw footage of Deacon Hill and thought 'that's our dude' is beyond me. and they have missed on countless others as well.

To be fair most ISU fans, most college football fans would react the same way.

People still talk about the blarge, the PI flag pick up at KSU etc etc

It is a subjective call, and not always called. Right call sure, called consistently no.

That said Iowa still had a chance with the wind at their back to drive for winning fieldgoal.

When your longest play in the 2nd half is a QB sneak, a questionable call is probably the least of your problems

Also Iowa fans know this is the last year of playing a Big 10 west schedule. It gets real for them next year

He won't leave until he is kicked out or they make BF HC. Similar to what KSU struggled with at Snyder's end. Unfortunately, BF is SO bad it is hard to see how it happens. However, do not under estimate the power earning millions/year has on people.
All he had to do is be average at his job and he would probably be their next head coach. It's hard to sell worst in the country to even the most delusional fan base.

And there's a non zero percent chance I'm gonna lose 50 pounds before my next doctor appointment, but it's still not gonna happen.
