Thanks again to @mj4cy for this thread topic - I didn’t have to work today!

What is something in society we all just accept as common/normal way of life but is actually really weird/goofy when you take a step back?

Why do they have to open your beer for you at concerts?

I asked a banker once why there was braille on drive thru ATMs in a smart ass way.
They told me its because vision impaired/blind people can get driven to an ATM, sit in the back seat, do it themselves and be guaranteed they received proper bills.

That one came to mind when I saw the topic.
 
Paper money - we take something that has no intrinsic value and place a value on it from nothing more than trust.
And not even fiat currency, any kind of "money" whether it is fiat currency, gold-backed, physical gold, shells, rocks, etc. is kind of weird. You're telling me that you will give me something that I can use, for this thing that you can't use for anything.

Also, on the concept of money: the fact that in the US all of our bills are the same size.
