i agree with mjones34. other points i caught...

he said he did it for 6 months from 2001 to 2003. how does that work? wouldnt that have to be at least 14 months?

he kept saying neither he nor his cousin asked anyone or did much research or told anyone what they were taking. they wanted to keep it to themselves. so obviously they both had some inclination that it was wrong.

I support him because he came out and said what he did (if that is true) but send Bonds and Roger to jail...I am tired of hearing about those to and if they would have just came out and said they did take, whatever it is they took, then this whole thing wouldn't have blown up the way it did...

He should fire his "image consultant" if they're the ones who steered him toward this rationale. ARod's contract was for $252M; who's going to believe that he'd put that in jeopardy by taking shots of anything, much less a substance on which he's not informed!?! I don't expect him to be Einstein but he's not that dumb.

I can understand the pressure to perform component, but I'm disgusted by the young, dumb & naive excuses. I don't expect anybody to be perfect, so I could have accepted it should he have come entirely clean, ala Ken Caminiti. I don't believe he did...

I have seen idiot minor leaguers sound like PhD's talking about what they put in their bodies to get better performance, no way he doesn't know exactly what he is taking unless he purposely told his 'cousin' not to tell him and just get him the best stuff...

I don't think you can punish him for using steriods, because the other 103 people need to somehow be punished as well. What you can do, is punish him for lying about it. Keep your story straight A-Rod!! First it WAS steriods, now its some bole energy booster or something. Then you had no cousin and now his cousin injected him! Which is it, and stick to it. When you change your story people know you are a lying sack of crap.

I can post on this from very personal experience. I used steroids while in school and also designed many cycles for other people. I would consider myself an expert in the area of performance enhancing drugs. Here are some things that are obvious to me...

He said he didn't know what he was taking, boloney. Myself and any other ex user can tell you down to the mg every single cycle they had, including their first. Cycles are so meticulously designed and followed that there is no possible way you would not know what you are taking.

He said he took 2 shots per month, baloney. In a 3 month cycle, relatively low dose of steroids, you can expect roughly 36 injections. Different roids have a different half life and must be taken accordingly. If they are active longer in your system you take them less often and vice versa.

He said he didn't feel that they improved his performance, baloney. When you are on steroids you literally become super human. Me personally, in my first 12 week cycle added 30 lbs of lean muscle, added nearly 200 pounds to my bench, and had an overall greater sense of well being. You feel like you can do anything, regardless if steroids can actually help you do it or not.

All in all, he's a liar. Oh, and don't do steroids. They will really jack you up and you will regret it later in life once you have children and start living for the future instead of the now. Had a friend juice for 4 years and die from an enlarged heart at 26...

I didn't know MLB punished guys for breaking minor laws... No other sport does...

Maybe they could show a little integrity and punish all 104 of them (if they are still playing).

It's not about what is against the rules and what isn't. It's about right and wrong and what they did was wrong.

Show some backbone Selig, restore some honor to the game I love.

You can't punish ANY of the 104... There was no rule broken...

Exactly. And if you decide to punish A-Rod, you better punish all 104. Just because it's against the law doesn't mean the MLB can punish for it (see numerous players and their criminal records).

So should all sports punish guys who get speading tickets? Where do you draw the line? How about we just put it all behind us, since it WAS 8 years ago and move on. They have the best system in place now of any major sport...

I think he is still not telling the whole truth. The guy was making $25 mil a year with his body. If you were making that much money you would be damm sure you knew what you were putting into your body. He covered his *** on what he was caught doing. What happens now if it is proven he was using in 2006? The saddest part of this deal is once again Jose Canseco has proven to be telling the truth, after he was doubted.
