ISU improving quite a bit. I predicted they would start slow and be scary by the end of the year. With consistent improvement and the Big 12 being down, we could easily get Bowl eligible. K-State just lost to Okey State. Baylor got slapped. Tech looks tough but we don't play them this year. It's too bad we got both the elite teams this year in Texas and OU.

Yep along with the rest of college football.

Was it some sort of murderer's row in other years?

No.
Agree with this. Both OU and Texas have been down in recent years. Texas arguably just isn't as elite as they like to believe they are. The only thing different about this year compared to recent years is that OU appears to be back, Texas is better than they've been, and nobody has really separated from the pack having a special type of season, like Kansas State, Baylor, TCU, and Iowa State had done in recent history.

Read the OPs.
You can’t just make a whole thread whining after a bad loss and then get upset when people want to celebrate a good win. You must have had a rough night last night seeing that win.

It’s ISU, it’s never easy, but we currently have the most successful coach in our programs’ modern history at the helm and I haven’t seen any concrete info from you to prove that wrong

Easy there Tiger. We just lost to Ohio and then got absolutely obliterated by OU last week. Thankfully they called off the dogs or they would have put 70 on us. Beating TCU on Jack Trice night is great, it doesn’t prove anything just like the Ohio and Ou games according to your logic.

Did you see my stat that were 20-5 at home in the last 25 B12 home games? Did you know CMC has the best record at isu? 3 time B12 coach of the year? Did you just forget the last 8years because a young team had a few bad games? Can I buy you a Georgia t-shirt?

I’ll admit I didn’t think Campbell was capable of turning the offense play calling around. The last 3 weeks have been much better. I’ve backed off the ledge but the improvement needs to be permanent and replicated throughout the season for me. A few good games will be for nothing if we regress to our old turtle offense.

Salty much?

It was a statement on how people are acting like ISU was some dominant force in the early CMC era.

Fans need to understand ebbs and flows of a program like Iowa State. He’s right to make a bowl game this year which means he’s only gone two years of his tenure without a bowl game which historically speaking is something we haven’t seen much at Iowa State.

The Big12 sucks this year.

Big time.

Only 2 ranked teams.

And that is in a year where college football is down across the board.
Yeah dude, that's how everyone stacks wins in college football, especially for historically mediocre to completely piss poor programs like us. You beat bad teams and don't apologize for it. Ask Iowa.

6 wins this season would be a strong step forward for the program, and most ISU fans understand that. Some will still whine, but that's more a reflection of their nature than their knowledge.

I think we’re going to like playing in the new Big 12. With the talent that Campbell and staff are able to get the Clones will be evenly matched in every conference game for the first time ever. And Iowa gets to at least 2-3 high level opponents in their annual cakewalks so we could see the tide turn a bit. I’m really excited about the rest of this season and beyond based on the number of freshman and sophomores contributing right now.
This is with the advantage of hindsight, and there are still some huge dominoes to fall, but realignment has benefited Iowa State greatly. We'll be in a balanced conference where we can reasonably compete in the top half, we're getting more money than ever, and the Big 12 will still be a respected football conference that gets a couple spots in the expanded playoff. We are not in the P2, but who cares? We would be buried in either one of those conferences.

Whic is what I was getting at.

If they get a bowl this year they're not that far off from CMC's other successful teams.

People are acting line one is good, one is bad.
