For the Bulls fans out there, is there any reason for Paxson not to call up the Suns and tell them that they can have anyone they want that's not named Rose?

I'm guessing maybe Gordon and Hughes would be involved because of their contracts.

A combination of Rose and Stoudemire is one that can compete for a long time. That gives the Bulls their Batman and Robin that they've lacked since '98. Throw in some role players and they'll compete to have home court in the playoffs next year.

Thomas, Gooden, Thabo and a first round pick is probably what the Suns would be looking for.

Can you trade an injured player in the NBA? That would be Garnett like robbery.

I am guessing they'd want Hughes in there somewhere. He's a big contract that expires in the offseason of 2010 where all the stars will be a FA.

I'm pretty sure you can trade an injured player. Not completely sure but I think its up to the team who is trading for him.

I think you're right, but I wasn't sure. I don't follow the NBA as much as the NFL or MLB.

keep in mind one of the reasons they are trying to get rid of amare is to clear salary room. thats why, to me, it wouldnt make sense for hughes to go to PHX, because that is sort of counter-productive to what they are trying to do.

I was thinking that Hughes was off the books after this year, but now that I'm thinking about it more, I think he does have one more year after this.

Hughes would clear space for them for 2010, but if that was their objective, then I guess there isn't much incentive to move Stoudemire right now.

Why don't the Suns just trade Stoudemire for Bosh? I'd take Bosh over Amare, and he's younger. The Suns are a mess right now. They had a great young nucleus with Joe Johnson, Amare, and Shawn Marion to build upon. Now they're all gone and they're left with an aging, unhappy point guard (Nash), an aging over-paid center (Shaq), a talented guard that can't stay out of trouble (Jason Richardson) and a bunch of scrubs.

Amare is supposedly not on the block anymore.

I hope that's true. He's played uninspired this season, but I think in the right environment he'll excel. His play and attitude aren't the problem, they're the symptoms. They need to dump Shaq on someone (not that he's the "problem") and make Amare the man on offense.

I think the two worst mistakes the Suns have made in recent years were firing their head coach (I forget the guy's name) and acquiring Shaquille O'Neal. Shaq is an aging commodity anyway (who knows how many years his knees have left in them), but the Suns completely changed their team philosophy of full court play, quickness, and excitement to more half court sets and such. And the new head coach certainly has not been an upgrade over the old one. Just not the same team it was a few years ago.
