Just looking at OU this year, you really can’t judge them based only on their statistics. Who have they played? Arkansas State is terrible. Washington trounced Tulsa like OU did and SMU was only down by three at OU with 10 minutes left to go in the game. TCU beat SMU by a similar amount OU did. SMU had nearly five yards per play. Cincinnati was a good team, but that game was close until late in the game. OU does not have a good track record in their Big 12 home openers lately. I can see Iowa State keeping this game within 14 points.

Well maybe having the second best conference record in the conference for a 4 year stretch is the residue of always staying in games. It's better than getting blown out all the time by good teams.
