A few years ago, short pants was a big deal. I saw several games where they penalized teams or players, for pants not covering the knee. As recent as 2021 I found articles on the subject and that officials were going to make it a point to enforce the rule, and seemed like there were articles from almost every year for a handful of years where they were emphasizing it.
Looking up the rules I have found no change to the rule that requires pants covering the knee. But I have noticed, there are a LOT of short pants this year, it may have been that way last year too, but I really have noticed it this year.
Did they change this rule that I cant find? Did they decide to not enforce it? I know it has been a hot button issue for some, I never understood why people want to wear short pants so bad, but some do.
