Fred Taylor Released by Jags

Wow hadn't heard that.

At least Fred was able to get to the Pro Bowl 2 seasons ago.

Hope he gives next season a go somewhere

Fred is a valuable guy but I can see their point at $6 mil a year for a backup is a bit much.
I can see him getting quite a few looks from other teams, and some very good pay still. Sounds like he will have some options on where to go. Probably one of the quietest close to hall of fame careers that anyone has ever had. Couple more seasons should get him in.

hugely underrated running back. The guy averaged over a thousand rushing yards per year over an eleven year period. That's pretty impressive. He's very close to cracking the top 15 in all time rushing yards. If he hangs up his cleats, he's put together a heck of a career. If he's got some more game in him, more power to him.

My 14 y/o had Sportscenter on and I believe John Clayton just said there'd only been two men to rush for 1000 yards at age 33+ since 1984. John Riggins did it twice, in 1983 (34) and 1984 (35). That's probably the reason for the 1984 cut-off! I wonder who the two were? Not Ottis Anderson or Marcus Allen...

In short, Clayton doesn't think there'll be much interest in Fred Taylor...
