Who is your backup team

If you have a family connection it makes sense. Plenty of people will root for their spouses school as a second favorite.

Randomly picking another school with no connection is a little odd, but whatever

I agree, I had my dorm assignment at Tenn but pussed out and stayed home.

I think it is hard to invest in another team so, like others have stated, I root for the opponents of the teams I dislike the most, Nebraska and Iowa.

raded never spent much time in Brookings as I’m from central SD. The times I have been there was only to party.n

Hobo days is fun but thats it. When I was their they were d2 and the stadium sucked. From what I have seen on tv they upgraded alot. Granted I was there in 2000

Hobo Days is the only time I ever went there. It was back in the early 90s in that horrible stadium.

It doesn’t bother me as much as it might’ve used to; we’ve made college sports a business so why not find some entertainment?

That being said, I do agree it’s a little weird for college. I don’t have another team because I can’t work up an emotional connection for anyone other than ISU

My approach isn't any kind of emotional investment; I tend to get a team that catches my eye because of a player or the way they play or whatever and I try to keep up.

Ex. 2021 I really liked watching Utah, can't remember last year.

I had family connections to UNI and used to follow them as a kid, knew more about them in the 1990s than either ISU or Iowa but that faded with time.

Chiefs, 9ers, Jets. I've never followed other college teams, just watch random games on Saturdays.

This is a very interesting question. I am die hard always 100% Iowa State. I moved to the Raleigh, NC area about 5 years ago. I have navigated towards NC State. I’ve never met a Duke fan, unless it’s basketball season. UNC fans are the NC equivalent to hawk fans. Also, NCSU is a school very much like ISU. I would say they are now my second team to ISU.

Weird I love CFB and will watch any game, well the Acc never gets my interest.

I used to love it a lot more. Then the chiefs got good and the kids’ soccer schedule on saturdays got intense.
