I just got my new iPhone ordered. I started as an Android user, but Apple is so ubiquitous and I had a ton of Apple Music, so it made sense to switch.

My daughter has an iPhone, too, which I do love for the “Find My” functionality. No wondering where she is.

I know this is a divisive topic - but what is your phone brand and why?

Always had Nexus phones but then I went through 2 in two years and was going to have to wait for several days to get one so the wife pushed me into an apple. Still have the iPhone 8 that I got a long time ago.

I had the Pixel when it came out. It was actually my first new smart phone that I purchased. At the time, I was buying new old models from Virgin Mobile. I actually then ended up getting the Pixel 3 when that came out too. I currently have an Apple phone, but prefer the Pixel.

It's going to be a tough battle as my wife has Apple and likes the face time features and stuff like that. I would like to go back to the Pixel.

For me, I don't have a lot in the Apple echo system, so the Pixel and android echo system would be better suited for me.

I had a Pixel and it was a great phone. Especially given the price.

My mistake was getting one that wasn't waterproof, but more importantly, dust proof.

The camera got dusted over from the inside and it wouldn't take a decent picture. Sadly went with an expensive phone as a replacement. The middle of the road Pixel is still better.

iPhone, because it is provided by work. Fun fact: I've never had my own personal cell phone.

Android because I know how to use it and don't care to learn something new. Also always seem to get annoyed with my wife's phone/ipad when using it.

If its not broken don't fix it.

Last year I switched from android/samsung phones to an iphone 14 pro and it was fairly easy. All the google apps have iphone versions. Once you get over the no back button I much prefer the Apple IOS. Went all in with airpods and the apple watch is so much better than my old samsung active 2 watch. The watch alone is worth the switch to me.

Only person among my friends that is still on Android. I have a Pixel 7 Pro and I stick with Android because I like the OS better. I've always went with ipads for tablets and am currently using a old Ipad Pro (12.9) that I bought refurbished like 5 years ago and it's running strong.

At this point, all of these phones today are so close in performance when you spend a certain amount.

I have no urge to get a smart watch. I'd probably feel different if I owned one.

I am a firm Pixel user. The features and intuitive nature of the interface are simply better than anything apple has to offer. My wife and 2 daughters are all apple users. I had an iphone 5? for about a year and it was a miserable experience - a big due to the Apple ID stuff. If I had a dollar for each time my wife/kids were heard ******** about backup space or entering the ID wrong or any of 50 different weird requirements relating to that I would have retired 10 years ago.

As much as I hate all things apple, I will give them credit for the Macbook Air. My oldest (22) has had hers for 6 or 7 years and hasn't had a single hiccup and the youngest(ISU frosh) has had hers for 3 years and its the same. No viruses, no hard drive issues, no screen issues.

Knocks on wood.....

3 out of 4 in our family rock Pixel phones. My one son was adamant about getting an iphone. Effing hate it. Apple ID is a giant pain in the butt. Putting parental controls on an iphone is a futile effort. Using Apple's built-in parental controls work until they don't and then you are in Apple ID hell trying to remove it because the 4 digit master code stopped working. Apple can bite me.

Ok, so I'm switching this up a little bit on the "Find My" functionality. My wife and I were just having a discussion about this. Our teenager has Life360 on her phone, which comes in real handy for knowing where she is. But this led us to talk about what things would have been like for us as teenagers if our parents could tell where we were at all times. I can't imagine how different my high school years would have looked if my parents could have known my location. My "I'm spending the night at Wes's" line wouldn't have worked so well when they could, at the click of a button, figure out I was drinking Keystone in a cornfield somewhere.

And there's a small part of me that feels a tad weird about the whole thing. Not enough to delete it, but a tad weird nonetheless.

I am a complete Pixel user...I have always used Android phones and love every Pixel I have owned. The reason I always give for my choice is that "it isn't Apple" but I will admit I say that mostly to get a rise out of iPhone users. I have never owned an iPhone so I don't have anything against them...but as much as I like using my Pixels I have never felt the need to try an iPhone.

Apple. When we were moving past flip phones, I asked my kids what would be easiest and that was my answer. I clung to the 5 forever because after that when it was time to upgrade they wouldn’t fit in my pocket anymore.

Some of sons have Pixels, husband and rest have iPhones

Whenever someone asks me why I don't have an iphone my goto response is "I always thought iphones were built for 12 year old girls? "

Same here. My son has Life360 on his phone as well. I appreciate the level of independence we had. I rode my bike all over town and later drove without my parents having any idea. Just as much, my parents for the most part didn't even ask. I wasn't dead or had a police escort, that was pretty much it. I've found myself trying to be reasonable with my son in a similar matter. Once his friends could drive, I would ask where they're going but otherwise left them on their own. You can't grow up if you don't experience a few things.
