I’m conflicted with this, but it’s an honest question. Every single game and it doesn’t matter if we are playing UNI or Texas, it seems half the damn crowd leaves at half and NEVER makes it back by kickoff of the second half. It kills the 3rd quarter atmosphere IMO. It feels like we are the only fans that do this because every other game I watch of another school their lower level stands are still packed come second half kickoff. Ours looks like everyone just decided to head on home.

Nope. I still remember the 2006 game against UNI: looked like we were going to lose, and the stadium turned into a ghost town. The team then turns it around, but everyone who abandoned the game was stuck outside the gates and couldn't get back in.

But my god -- please let there be beer sales. Ames is not Provo.

This has been discussed ad nauseum on this board, people love to blame the effect you see on people leaving at half, when in reality most of those people that don't make it back are in line for concessions\restrooms (which, one way or the other, we are pretty poor at getting people through those lines)

If anything, banning reentry would probably just make this worse, as it would put more people in line for these facilities.

You have to let people leave and comeback.

For example reapply sunscreen, rehydrate with water, get a snack that’s not a minimum $10 at the concessions, or take a medication.

Also, we are very lucky to have the tailgating lots surrounding the entire stadium. Other schools like Iowa or Nebraska you would have to walk 20 minutes or even miles to get back to your tailgate.

I'm not as passionate about the alcohol in the stadium thing as others but it seems like with how much folks are having to pay these days for parking and tickets and then sitting through endless tv timeouts (not the ADs fault) it seems like being able to come and go as we please would make the experience slightly better. But it's not on top of my want list.

Interesting. I’m as pro alcohol as anyone but gosh, I get enough pre game. I can’t imagine drinking through the entire game. What a **** show.

Your last sentence is why people drink through the game:D:D.

2 games so far and I've had 1 beer. Old age and common sense are catching up to me:)

It's a nice to have, if it's negatively impacting the atmosphere at all you get rid of it.

I've never understood why people feel entitled to it, even after reading these threads that inevitably come up every year after a loss.

As a progressive, this is where the LIbertarian devil on my shoulder perks up and says, "What business is it of you what I do with my ticket and my life experience? Mind your own business". In this case, that is the dominant voice. Worry about yourself, don't worry about me and don't "regulate" me to try and make your life experience fit some pre-conceived box.

This is simply not true. The east club section is absolutely empty when the third qtr starts.

Very few P5 schools allow this...

The NCAA did a study on it and use the College World Series as their test pilot. They literally saw no difference in game day arrests or issues in general so they moved forward with alcohol sales for other NCAA events. JP is just tap dancing around the donors but it's time to nut up and open sales.
