Campbell’s Offense

Game on the line, must have first down. Run up the middle. I’m shocked it didn’t work
Iowa knew when we were going to run it.

And Iowa knew when we were going to run our 100th pansy ass 4 yard out route.

Also, Jaylin Noel can't be our second receiver. I have seen enough of others to think they are better. Heck I would have rathered we threw it 15 times to Higgins versus 9 to Higgins and 6 Noel. Brahmer could use more touches, he catches everything.

The o line was the best part of our offense today. There is very little skill, but cambell didn't used to be this vanilla either.

It's too bad because people are getting sick of this, it's really hard to watch. I think people will start voting with their wallets and ticket purchases if we don't show something soon.

I just don't want this to get sideways, but that first drive of the second half really really has me worried. Just no new wrinkle, no sense of urgency, just nothing.

How many times did we throw the ball more than 10 yards in the air? The TD, overthrow to Bremer and the incomplete pass in the end zone are all I can remember. Just stubbornness and borderline incompetence to throw slants and out routes against Iowa

CMC has the idea we're going to push our will on Iowa's defense each year which isn't going to happen. Gotta have them guessing a little. How about a naked bootleg or something rather than handing it to the back every time. Iowa's dline was blowing our oline into the backfield all game. We don't have the oline talent to be predictable.

A few points…
1. Anyone who thinks Dekkers would be an improvement over Rocco has had too many drinks. Add to it he was a locker room problem.
2. The lack of urgency during the last drive was beyond stupid.
3. Our offense shows signs of positive play, but too many mistakes and then being hamstrung by poor play calling is too much to overcome. Prime example was the last 4th down call.

Thank goodness many of us had no expectations coming into the season. We have hope for some positives and that the defense gives us a chance. My advice is to drink heavily and don’t stop until basketball arrives.

Bingo. Outside of Kohl and Deyo (who is obviously now gone), we have been very mid in the recruiting department over the past four years.
Were you saying we were very mid when we got guys like Purdy, Kolar, Montgomery, and Anthony Johnson?

Our offense is starting I think two seniors and 2 or 3 juniors. We’re young and just faced the best defense we’ll face all season…

I said past four years. None of the names you mentioned are from the past four years. None of the recruits you mentioned were very highly rated recruits either. Sure, those guys were all studs, but from a recruiting standpoint they didn’t seem like they would be as good as they were.

Rocco needs to keep the ball on a few of those read options is accurate. I'm wondering if we have no faith in Kohl and don't want Rocco hurt. Khol is a true freshman and Rocco a RS Freshman, neither was ready to take over. Rocco put the ball on the money a lot, but his recievers often had no space and dropped a lot of balls.

A bigger worry is that we don't have David Montegomery or Breece Hall to hide the issues with the Oline's run blocking. Sama might get there, but he's a true freshman too.

I just hope all these kids keep fighting and learn fast.

Is it just me, or does Campbell’s mantra of “you have to go up the hard side of the mountain at Iowa State” rub anyone else the wrong way? I get it, it’s tough to win here, but that doesn’t really show confidence in yourself or your team. We recently won the fiesta bowl, build on that and have some swagger. Have a we can be the big dog mentality for once.
