To each his own. I am here to watch great shotmaking and charisma. Nadal and Federer had the entire package. Djokovic has most of that too. Carlos just loves the game and like someone mentioned above, these guys go through so many emotions and ups and downs by themselves for two weeks.

If he can keep this level of play then we may see a replay of the Djokovic Medvedev finals from 2 years ago.
I hope we get that type of quality as we all need a good final for the last slam of the year. Long time until we get to the Aussie Open.
Isn't that what Medvedev’s game does to opponents. Makes you impatient and then go for a lot more than you would usually. Felt like Alcaraz was coming to the net a lot more to counteract Medvedev sitting way behind the baseline, and it worked some times but not enough obviously.
It’s his gameplan and it works against almost everyone, especially on hard courts. But Alcaraz and Djokovic are typically immune to it because of their ability to move the ball to any spot on the court with pace and depth.
Carlos’ forehand was lacking consistency. A lot of short balls in the court and not as much depth and pop.
I will say Novak in 4 sets Sunday. 6-3, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4
Yep, Medvedev at his best draws a ton of errors. Tonight was the best I've seen him play in a long time. Kudos to him, he deserves a shot at Djokovic in the finals. Good thing is I only trust two players to not be intimidated by playing Djokovic. Alcaraz and Medvedev. Should be a good final.
Agree, Alcaraz's forehand, and I'd say ground strokes in general were off all match.Not quite as consistent as usual. Not terrible, but just too many errors.

Well love him or hate him or anything in between, you gotta respect Novak’s accomplishments. He is not just the greatest tennis player ever but one of the best athletes across all sports ever.

This is such a strange article when I read it earlier. Of course Novak is the GOAT right now BUT is Nadal saying this because he is likely not going to return aside from maybe one more farewell at Roland Garros next year? Because if he comes back healthy to play, he's only two back so it's not finished yet. Not that I think Rafa will come back and win anymore slams aside from possibly Roland Garros. Yeah...it seems as though he did this interview in the middle of a decision regarding retirement. Weighing the possibilities against the realities. Which I guess is not unusual but agree that it sounds as though Rafa thinks is it over yet he hasn't come out and said he is done?
He has said 2024 will be his last year on tour, but not which events he would play. It was pretty obvious when he tried to come back earlier this year that the body was no longer cooperating. I think he just wants to go out on his own terms.
