Cytown Update

A clinic also bring employees and patients year round that could spend at other businesses in the development. Sound like it will also provide services, equipment to student athletes.
Yeah I don't think any fan can logically argue against these points, or similarly raised points. Having the clinic there is "good" for many, many reasons. I think most will 'get' that.

Having it take up a giant chunk of the prime "entertainment district" strip? That, for me as a fan, is not at all exciting, or something I would recommend the Athletic Department 'celebrate' as their 1st tenant. Like, it's fine. It makes logical sense. But... there was really no other way to accommodate it or.. put it somewhere else in the lot? The biggest building in a prime corner spot, facing the football stadium, of our 'entertainment district' really needed to be a clinic?

Great, if we can just get a couple of dentists, a law firm or two, a tile shop and a couple mattress stores, this will be perfect. I thought this was going to be an entertainment district? Is this just going to be another run of the mill strip mall?
If you were not paying attention, when the project was first announced they talked of a medical facility nearest to Jack Trice to support all the athletes at the University! So this is no surprise and has been planned from the beginning! Will provide a huge financial anchor for the entire project. The condominiums planned are not "entertainment" either, but will further stabilize the finances.

Maybe it won't take up a lot of real estate. They can build a tower type facility and needed parking doubles up as game day parking.

It was a ******* joke, lighten up Francis.

I've been on board for CyTown since the start, even argued with my brother and father this past weekend about how it was a good thing over-all for the University. I get there are only so many resturaunts/bars that you can put in one spot and still be viable in a city the size of Ames.

My guess is that it might serve as kind of a first aid station during game days as well.

We should plant corn on the roof of the building and create a tradition around ACTUALLY helping farmers.
Good idea. Sell sweet corn- at $1.50/ear our Athletic Department will be rolling in the cash.

Or we could go for a field of dreams vibe. Plant some corn between building and stadium and have Player Walk through a field of corn!!! The national media will love it. It will put the Iowa Wave to shame.

Plus it can double up as corn maze for the kids. Mom &dad can throw kids in there 5 hours before game and then mom/dad can go get their groove on- maybe even at a tailgate.

Who in their right minds is paying $18/dozen for corn!?

Not only that, you can use it to create a We Will special alcohol for sale in the SEZ.

No clue how some are complaining about Med Clinic and space... Lord.

Did everyone expect there to be 100 bars there?

You need a investor and business that will be a permanent anchor tenant.

Med clinic is just that.

It also will draw alot of people to the location on a daily basis.

There will likely be some nice sports bar/pub or two...It won't be all industrial.

Can't have a corn field taking away all of our brand new head-in parking spaces.

Everyone knows the bar/restaurant industry is tough and has a lot of turnover.

You need stable, anchor tenants as well.
