Really hoping Tiafoe wins and can somehow beat Novak. Seeing Tiafoe in a slam final, especially in New York, would be incredible.

Shelton beats Tiafoe in 4 sets. Shelton's run probably ends here but very promising signs for the future.

We shall see what Shelton does over the next few years. A very strange season where he had the run at the Aussie Open and then couldn’t win anything really until this US Open run.

He will likely be a guy where if he is on can make runs but consistency will be his enemy. Guy plays some red line tennis as of now, but he’s so young he has time to learn the ins and outs of navigating a tennis season.

Playing Alcaraz has to be a brutal experience.
Looks like another Alcaraz/Joker final. Any chance for Shelton? That serve is a problem but maybe he’s just a little too unpolished for Novak right now….? I don’t know joker’s record against big serve guys like isner or kyrgios

My guess is the stage is too big for Shelton going against Novak in a slam Semifinal. His serve will have to be at its very best because Djokovic is arguably the best returner in history.

Shelton is just going to have to go for it and hope he is just in one of those grooves where everything is working.

But Novak in straights seems to be the likely outcome. If Shelton gets a set it will likely be the first before Novak really dials in on his serve return.

It's going to take Djokovic and Alcaraz playing their B game to not get through to the final. Shelton is intriguing because he at least has some weapons to threaten Djokovic if he's "on". I don't see him being "on" for long enough to win though. Djokovic is a way better returner than Tiafoe.

Medvedev on the other hand doesn't have anything to threaten Alcaraz with. His only hope is Alcaraz has an off day and makes a bunch of errors (which does happen sometimes with Carlos). Yes, Medvedev is a lot better on hard courts than he is grass, so the Wimbledon result doesn't necessarily carry a lot of weight, but the last time they played each other on hard courts (Indian Wells) Alcaraz absolutely destroyed him. For Medvedev to win, I think he has to be a lot more aggressive and play closer to the baseline. But he never plays that way, so it's asking him to play a style that he's not comfortable playing.

In general for tennis, I want Alcaraz v. Djokovic because it's just scintillating tennis and no idea how many of these we will get because Novak is getting older. Medvedev is boring and doesn't play thrilling matches and Shelton has many years left. Give me as much Alcaraz v. Djokovic as we can get.

Agree, I find Medvedev really boring to watch. There's no variety at all. He just tries to play the same point over and over for 3 hours and coax errors from his opponent.

Man Keys in full choke mode here. Had a chance to serve it out and just fell apart. Dug out of a hole to force the tiebreak and now is in full meltdown mode. Sabalenka has found her groove and barring something crazy we aren't getting the all-American final.

Yeah, that was painful to watch. MK got up 5-3 and then it felt like she tightened up a lot. Keys lost her composure. Lots of unforced errors from Keys in those last 3 games and the tiebreaker. Now Keys is into the training room.

I’m afraid you are right

Keys with the solid play in the 3rd, and Sabalenka having some brain farts serving and Keys is up 4-2 in the 3rd. 2nd chance to show composure. And then she gets broken. Ah man I spoke too soon....
