Big 12 Rebrand thoughts.

How about "Big 12"? Is the Big 10 changing even though they have 24 teams? No. They're not.
Having lived during the Big8 & Big12 era- I don't feel the Big12 name is untouchable. Especially if we get to the point of a 24 team Big12.
Yormark doesn't need to force a name change. But if a media consultant can come up with a cool name- why not change to something that reflects a conference that combines Big12, Pac12 and ACC?

Oh geeze! I looked it up. I'm sort of old school I guess. Not sure you need to put a name on it. Better than a DAP I suppose.Hmm... can't imagine that being confused with anything else.
I can almost guarantee it will be the B12 something, but the B12 will remain.
Not only would a different name altogether, sound like just another G5 conference, but a name other than B12 (plus 'something') would be taking all the air out of our sails. The recent exposure, prominence, power gained, and momentum that the B12 currently has, will be lost.
The B1G (Big 10), the SEC are not changing names. The Big 12 should remain, and will.

I agree with "keep Big 12 name"...but some of these conference names are way better than others.
Sun Belt and Mountain West are actually pretty cool sounding. Horizon League is also pretty cool sounding.
Conference USA is probably the dumbest one ever with separation. American Athletic Conference is so incredibly generic...that's a conference that actually should change the name.

We kept the Big 12 name through all of the negative realignment moves. Let's not change it now after a big positive realignment move. Pretty soon if we changed the name, there would be calls to start clean with the history/record books.
We still have 7 of the original 12 teams. It's not like we'll be grasping at straws like the Pac X will be doing to keep their name.

The Big 12 (+ in the shadows somewhere, whatever number we currently are at). Done.
Especially since the number will likely change a time or two more. And we don't want a weird conference name like a G5.
Keep the Big 12.

Just keep the basketball tournament in KC, regardless of the conference name.
