Place Your Bechts

Again just a couch take but I got the impression that Dekkers is/wasn't great with constructive criticism from coaches which wouldn't help the cause.
Along with the other stuff, but definitely after seeing the video with Dekkers at the bar talking about his betting openly with somebody WHO HE KNOWS IS FILMING HIM, I've concluded that he's a knucklehead. And when you have a kid on your team that's a knucklehead there's a problem with that particular kid gaining the trust of his non-knucklehead teammates. And having coached for a few years I can say it's the non-knucklehead kids that win your games week in and week out. If the knucklehead is the starting quarterback it makes me wonder if that was an issue last year. And if so, to what extent did it affect the wins and losses.

I was just wondering why he isn't practicing. I haven't kept up much until this week. So what's his problem? Thanks.
I think he was caught up in the gambling, but not as severe as Dekkers. I would guess anywhere from 1 to 6 games depending upon how much he gambled.

I am excited for football season, and would love to be wrong, but I feel like this is a slowly sinking ship. Campbell does not appear to have the culture where it needs to be, and if he doesn't have culture, what does he have? Certainly are not out talenting anyone. We have never been a win in the margins program either, despite that being his credo. This is trending down a very Paul Rhoads type of path IMO.
I am concerned for you...this post has clonedude vibes and we don't need more than one clonedude...

This 247 writer has Rocco ranked 57 out of 69 starting QBs in the P5

hey not last in the big 12 though. Cincy, OkSt, and West Virginia all have lower QBs and Rocco is not far behind BYU either. I'm smelling a bowl season. ;)

I can understand the pessimism. We’ve all been kicked in the nuts so much. I use to be terrible at being pessimistic. But I have the more “we will see what happens” mindset nowadays. If we suck, we suck. Out of our control as fans.

(Not trying to complicate the QB situation; but) watch the senior highlight video of preferred walk-on freshman QB Wyatt Bohm. That kid is an athlete, and is very good at quarterbacking a football team. He was the starting QB for two seasons. He passed for 5,623 yards, with 59 TD passes.

It would be nice to have another Seneca Wallace-type surprise from the juco ranks at quarterback

My Kingdom for the next Brock Purdy…

Dekkers: I'm a Dodo bird!

i dont put too much stock into that video

drunk college kid at a bar talking/flirting with a girl.. meh.

not saying he's not a knucklehead (clearly he is) but that video is a bit overblown, imo

Yeah the worst part about it is him literally saying on video to not post that because it's illegal. Now, he might've come to a realization that him playfully making a verbal bet could get him in trouble, so was asking her to not send that out.
