Do you go to a concert, boating, motorcycle, camping, snowmobile gathering every year?
Maybe your family rents a cabin in Northern Minnesota and you fish, waterski?

What is an annual event you put on the calendar and you never want to miss it? Any good stories that go along with it?

My wife and I never miss the State Fair's Iowa Craft Beer Tent.
Not only good brews but usually solid music.
My wife and I usually do this on the first Friday of the fair. Other things have prevented us from going in recent years. How is the new location?

On a side note, taking an Uber is well worth the expense IMO.

Every August I go up for 3-4 nights to some old haunts in northern WI/U. P. to camp/paddle/fish/hike.

I usually get to spots I know well and add in some place I've never been to.

My wife and our close friends from college go to the Fair 1 Saturday every year. It's tradition. Usually start at the Craft Beer Tent and then make our way to the various foods we want to try.

The tent was perfect for me years ago by the giant slide but it just got so crammed. It's a good problem for them.
The new spot isn't too bad but it's kind of away from everything. They do have a lot more tables now to hang out at.

I posted this in the hiking thread but we make annual summer trips out to Colorado. Knocked out Quandry Peak this most recent trip. Our first 14’er (usually we go earlier in the summer so 14’ers aren’t as accessible due to snow).

Airventure but I do somewhat look forward to the day that I have fewer EAA responsibilities and am not obligated to go.

As children our parents would take us to the same place for the 2 week summer vacation. It was an old camp that had it's own private lake (actually a large pond). The old house and lodge are still there but the property was sold off long ago and there are several homes on the 100 acres or so that made up the place. The lake itself still has it's charm.

While 2 families could be there at the same time we usually had the place to ourselves.

That's a Bob Ross painting.

That's a similar look to a spot I stayed at that's a friend's family's place. Just one cottage on its own land and a small lake.

Used to go up every Labor Day weekend with a bunch of friends for an annual drunkfest and they let me stay there on my own a few times. Great home base to go out adventuring.

Every year we go to NE Iowa and hit Decorah or McGregor/Marquette at least twice. Now we are in the mood to start renting cabins and chilling by a lake or something. Unfortunately I don't find much of that in NE Iowa. So now I'm looking at WI or MN areas.

Decorah High Point cabins are amazing but there is no pond/lake.
