Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

How in tf do they allow this guy to keep kicking the can down the road?????
Probably gotta let today's meeting breathe a little bit. Have to remember there are teams within that conference that do want to stay and honestly have no other choice at the moment. Arizona seems like they're doing their due diligence but they certainly have one foot out the door. Washington and Oregon don't have to be as hasty because all they have to do is wait for Arizona.

If the numbers presented today by GK were even close to being what the Big 12's deal is, then we'd be hearing all about it. Every PAC 12 reporter and media member would be all over Twitter praising GK.

Feels like it might be slipping away. Maybe uconn after all? Who knows.
I’m not as convinced that AZ is a done deal as others (especially after Thamel’s report yesterday that AZ, UU, and ASU are tied together).

But everyone who says “oh it’s not happening now” what exactly did you expect coming out of that meeting? AZ never was going to walk out of that meeting and say “we’re leaving the conference!” immediately.

Everyone, except CU, has held their cards pretty close to the vest. I only see that becoming more so. No one is going to storm out of that meeting saying, "That's it! We're gone!" No one wants to tip their hand to the GK or each other.

Nothing will happen until it does.

Loyalty.

There is a limit to that, but these institutions have deep seeded roots and are not on the receiving end of anything close to the same deal that USC/UCLA got.

Nobody really wants to blow up a conference. This stuff will take some time with who is left. It’s a huge decision.

Arizona 247 board posters seem to be melting down after hearing this.
They think Robbins (their president) is going to mess this up and stay in the PAC9.

Don’t forget after CU didn’t get what they wanted from the PAC they still had to go to the BOR as a formality.

AZ seems to have wanted to do everything the “right way” even if it results in leaving. We’ll see

Because… overreacting to everything is what we do here.

People seem to think this will play out like a movie where AZ officials leave the meeting stomping their feet and dramatically announcing “we gone!”

No one knows what will happen next except for the inner circle of officials

I guess if your only option is Apple+ then you take the option. But... as a random viewer of college football I'm not watching. I get that eventually streaming will become the main source, but today I prefer finding a random game (that's not B12) on my list of networks and watching it. I'd rather watch MWC than pay to watch P9.

"If a team wins a game on Apple+ will anybody other than the 2,000 people in the PAC stadium know it?"

How soon is soon? Colorado waited almost a week after Pac-12 media days to leave, but if the reporting is true they were out the door that Friday.
No idea, just a feeling. I know absolutely nothing. My gut tells me AZ is not coming based on the tone of the last couple of days. Nothing more than my personal interpretation of the many crazy tweets and posts I've read in the last couple of days. Just has the feeling of AZ leaders wanting to try to make this PAC thing work somehow.

People wanted the AZ President to do this to GK at the end of the meeting:

I understand the natural ISU doom and gloom but this makes be even more bullish on AZ. All we’ve been hearing from their president is that he wants to see the media deal. If it was truly presented to them this morning but no deal was struck then doesn’t that give AZ all it needs to leave?

Lol you mean the Apple + network that has a brand new facility in Los Angeles, and one in Southern California? I doubt they are even an option now that USCLA is B1G inventory

We’re talking “worst case scenario”. This is like the baseline of a worst case scenario (we’re stuck at 13, not able to create the 9-game schedule our TV contract requires, thus invalidating it).

While I’m not a steel cupper in my fandom, you honestly don’t want to underestimate the kind of rabbit hole my imagination can take a worst case scenario.
Haha! I think we all could add a paragraph or two to a 'worst case scenario'.
