Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

money and power ruin everything.

West coast college athletes flying to Maryland and Rutgers and Ohio St cause they're in the same conference makes absolutely no sense. 1 hour flight to PHX or

yea make a 19 yr old 3rd string TE jump 3 time zones on 10+ hrs of travel roundtrip because of money hungry TV contracts. yea it's still 2-3 hr flight from LA to Washington or Oregon but at least it's same time zone.

like...what are we doing?

feel like at some point everyone will wake up and be like this is so dumb let's just all play the teams nearby like we should've done all along.

I'm obviously biased, but where is our stadium showing signs of wear? I mean, don't get me wrong, we 1000% need a bigger press box and something needs to be done to the coloring of our seats, but I don't really know what else they could be talking about..

When the inevitable happens and there are three mega conferences with 24+ teams in them, it's going to end up being like that imo. You're going to have semi-regional mini conferences within the huge conferences almost like NFL divisions.

My guess is this was written by someone who has never been to any of the stadiums listed.

It's the press box. Every time I bring someone new to Jack trice, it's the first thing they comment on, how small and old the press box is. I don't know why it's not higher up on the to-do list. It makes us look minor league compared to a lot of P5 stadiums in that respect.

LOL - Looks like the author wanted to rank us low and just came up with something generic as to why. "Awesome score board at one end" - Ummm, the other end is identical in terms of the scoreboard.

Totally agree. The press box looks so “small time”. It’s embarrassing when compared to the big boys.

Hard to take seriously if WVU/ISU are separated by much. Identical base stadium and ISU's big addition is slightly better/newer.

JTS is a top half stadium by any metric in new B12. Maybe if Oregon/Washington join we'd be bumped down close to middle or top of bottom half.

Somebody. ION, CW, maybe even ESPN is going to sublicense the content from Apple for a fraction of what it's actual value is and Apple is going to keep the lion's share of marquee games. That's the end game here.
In regards to CW, I read somewhere that they recently just picked up the Nascar Infinity series for quite a few years, and their races are on Saturdays.

TBS had games for a few years including Seneca's "The Run" game.

That's closest thing I can feel to CW having football.

This is where I read it....no idea how reliable the site is. They have several interesting articles today about realignment.

Edit: Several of these articles seem to source Twitter morons so...take it for what it is.
Sort of irrelevant, but I had to look up "ISP". The writer of this article is apparently from India? That is some on-the-spot reporting.

TBS is a Top 3 cable network in terms of households. I think that's way about the CW hanging out on digital subchannels.

Apparently, you and those you bring have never been to WVU or Clemson, etc. Might notice our Press Box is giant when compared.

Press box envy is such a weird thing. Its for the Press. Many stadiums have all their suites there, which is why they have such big ones. We have our suites between decks like some, and we have just as many suites as most.

At some point I am guessing we will build more club sections possibly mirroring JTClub on the other side which will push the need for suites elsewhere, with probably additional club seating as well.

But this we have a small press box narrative is exhausting, its bad enough we have to defend that from outside but from inside its ridiculous.

It popped up on my Google articles, this morning is where I saw it. It appears to basically report on Twitter rumors as sources. So yeah I have realized it is a nothing burger probably.

whoever made that ranking hasn't been at Jack Trice recently. Never assume a stadium is "showing it's age" simply because the aluminum bleachers have faded and the concrete is stained.
