Cornbread BBQ Suggestions

The ribs at cornbred are incredibly good. They always sell out, so you might not be able to get them depending on when you get dinner.
Good to know. I love ribs & am likely to order them if they are available. If not, I am content with any type of smoked meat! The brisket chili looks good, as do the burnt ends!

Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything. It's served family style, so if you like, you can get a large variety and share. With this heat, the Bourbon slush is amazing. My wife doesn't like bourbon and likes the slush version there.
Family style? Not when we've been there. Now if you mean the servings are large enough for more than one person, I definitely agree with that. And if people want to share, they definitely can.

I haven't been there in a couple months but every time I've been there, it was family style. Usually get one large trey with all of the different meats. Sandwiches and sides, that can be different.

Sure on that because it's a menu choice. Every time I've been there, everyone ordered their own food -- because none of us wanted what anyone else wanted :)

I think their brisket is good, really all the meats.

We treid the pig candy and it was too sweet for me. My two other diners agreed too.

Cornbred
Get the hush puppies and the cheesy potatoes. For meat I’d suggest brisket and burnt ends

Get their fatty brisket, it is delicious.

Cornbread - Burnt ends and pig candy for sure

They usually ask if you want lean or fatty. The fatty is better IMO.

This may have been the problem. Someone else ordered and brought it to camp site. In Texas they ask if you want lean or moist (fatty) and I always go moist (both the brisko and physically).

That's why smokey d's and Jethro's brisket suck so bad. So dry and cooked to fast for mass consumption.

Personally I like my own the best.

The dozen or so times I've been there, that has been the case, with the meat orders anyways. Maybe it's how we order.

I've always considered Jethro's "fake BBQ." Their smoked meats usually lack smoke flavor and are dried out from probably overcooking them. That and I think the owner is a POS (search around for his name on CF or on Google and you'll see what I mean) so I try to steer clear of giving him business when I can.

If you want good ribs they should not be "fall off the bone" as if it falls off the bone that easily it means they are overdone. The meat should stay on the bone but come off with some ease when you bite into them if they are properly cooked.

Make sure you go when they are serving "Food". I went one time after an ISU FB game and they were only serving "Bar Food". What the f! I won't even try to go back.

The burnt ends are where it's at for Smokey D's and most other places. Simply because those are the fatty pieces, and won't dry out at much.

They aren't bad, I get that a lot when others want to go, but other places have better burnt ends. I normally get brisket whenever I get bbq but when people want smokey ds it gives me a chance to get something else like smoked chicken.
