Jack Trice "like a kindergarten class"

I might be confusing him for someone else, but he sure seems to hate us for no reason.

**** him.

No he's not...he's comparing the team to SEC teams. It's not about the city or the stadium.
Ah yes Arkansas, Vanderbilt, A&M, Missouri are just powerhouses. And we couldn't even compete with OU or Texas if we'd ever play them. Lol

Typical Finebaum. But it's kind of crazy that it's a bit of a backhanded compliment as he likely chose Iowa State as it's the largest stadium in the remaining Big 12 (besides BYU) and one of the tougher places to play recently.

Things sure are different than the days of the Big 8 in both good and bad ways.

I like the thought process. Give the team and CMC more motivation please!

Nobody just walks into Vanderbilt and escapes without an experience.

I've said this in multiple threads over the years but I've been to Nashville many times and I don't think I've seen a single Vandy clothing item on anyone there. Obviously it's a tourist town but what are the odds? No one gives a **** about Vanderbilt outside of baseball.

We have a very solid tailgating and gameday environment but if you've been to a big time SEC game you know it's a different world than here in the Midwest. And that's ok.
Absolutely agree, but to say it's like college vs kindergarden is a little harsh. Bama, LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia, Florida, Auburn all have amazing atmospheres. But they also have histories of success and larger stadiums. Ames isn't a slouch like Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Minnesota, etc are.

I do take it as a compliment that he used Iowa State as an example though because it's one of the best atmospheres in the midwest and the Big 12 and he knows it.

Dude, it could be a literal hornets' nest. They could burrow up under all the empty seats and grow exponentially. You don't think that's some real scary ****?

Also awkward quiet stadiums are said to be hard to play in.

These teams with 1/6 of the place full are playing chess.

Oh it's fine but him taking a shot to downplay us (and the entire Big 12 at that) is just stupid. I mean it's par for the course for Paul because he just slobs on the SEC's dong, but c'mon. I'll give him this, he knew what he was doing in saying that. There's a reason he didn't mention Kansas or say Houston. He could've just as easily made a comment about KSU or OSU.
