Jack Trice "like a kindergarten class"

Stadium comparisons aside, Alabama's recent dominance is in part due to when they got lit up by OU in the Sugar Bowl about 10 years ago and had to change their offensive approach.

It's been too bad that OU has been the main representative in bowl games because they really have been terrible defensively. I remember when they let Georgia back in 2017 they had players simply out of alignment/position pre-snap. It was really an afterthought.

His words are absolute trash - calling Trice a Kindergarten Class in comparison is just pure theatrics.

However, he is correct that our stadium is smaller than the majority of the SEC's and they do have rabid fan bases even at non-perennial powers like South Carolina, Mississippi State, etc. A big difference is we still fill our stadium after a loss, unlike most of those "bigger stadiums".

But his quote and his other quote about never wanting to go to Ames, Iowa is just douche leakage from a douchebag.

lets get it clear here he didn't call Jack Trice anything. those are the words of Heartland from the article.

he's comparing Ames to the other cities in the SEC.

Here's the quote...

“You can’t limp into this league. You’ll get run over,” Finebaum said, according to On3’s George Stoia. “Nobody needs to take the Big 12 and compare it to the SEC. There’s simply no comparison. OU’s done so well, but everyone talks about going to Iowa State. Well, I can give you 12 places in the SEC that make Iowa State look like a kindergarten class.”

And the second...

“I’ve had people tell me, ‘you don’t understand what it’s like to go to Ames, Iowa.’ Well, first of all, I don’t want to go to Ames, Iowa,Finebaum told TexAgs.I can assure you, Saturday night in Ames, Iowa, does not compare to Saturday night in Auburn, Baton Rouge, The Swamp, Knoxville. I mean, you can go 11 deep in the SEC. You think it’s easy to play in South Carolina?

suppose its how you want to take the context of the quote, but he never mentions jack trice.

He mentions the city of ames vs the cities of auburn, baton rouge, and knoxville. He calls gainsville the swamp, though.

Link to the actual interview? Why would he be comparing the cities?

Again, its how you want to take the context of the article.

Basically he's saying he'd rather goto Baton Rouge (city or stadium) over going to Ames (city of stadium)

And honestly- who could blame him?

What he probably doesn't know is that Iowa State will still get 60K+ to attend the game so the atmosphere isn't a funeral.

I take it as the environment of the stadium. The rest of the city means nothing in the realm of college football, it's the stadium atmosphere that matters and is what he's trying to compare.

Yes, there are bigger and rabid fanbases, but Jack Trice Stadium isn't like a morgue the game after a loss. Hell even "the Swamp" looked like a PAC stadium a year or two ago.

Which if thats the point- it's a dumb take because 61K fans in a stadium is a great atmosphere.

I could potentially make the argument the smaller town environment on game day is much better than the big city.

Now I've never been to Auburn, or Gainsville, or Knoxville on gameday so I'm not sure what it's like.

That's a very condescending take. Though I looked at the list of 2022 college FB attendances, and we'd be #11 in the SEC.

I don't know how to quantify the environment, and I'd like to think we're better than some of those other teams in that regard.

Is he not talking about OU and Texas coming to the SEC? Basically what he is saying is if they think it gets hostile in Jack Trice, they're not going to be prepared for what happens at SEC stadiums.
